I think part of the problem is the AO rating, It looks too much like XXX in movies. I think if it was changed from Ao to 18+ that would take away a lot of the inherent fear that AO titles have. It is less threatening and it says exactly what age group it is for. I do think that is still a band aid solution but it is a start. A huge part of the problem is that all the console makers will not allow AO products on their gaming system and the big chains will not sell it. The industry needs to grow out of this impression that video games are for kids. The average gamer is in his 30's, they need to wake up to the huge market base out there they are missing out on.

Actually, Sony,Microsoft,Nintendo has said that they will not allow AO titles on their systems. If it was distributors they could simply sell it on the companies website.
Well, stop cussing in front of your kid and maybe he will follow the example. Reminds me of a Christmas story where the kid cusses and the parents wanted to know where he learned to cuss from. He said he heard it from a kid down the road but really his father cussed on a daily. Before blaming others for your kids problems, maybe you should look a little closer to home.
so, the lesson here is that murder and rape is safer for future criminals than IP works? Nice to see that the U.S. has the best laws that money can buy. Lets see what is going to happen, the law passes, they will have a few big cases were examples will be made out of random people for a short while so it gets media coverage. Then it will fade as it will have ZERO effect in curbing piracy. The people who's live were lost will spend the rest of their lives in jail, if they are lucky they may get off. I am sure after they get out of jail with REAL criminals they will be nice upstanding citizens.
I Like virtual machines but I wish they would allow true 3d acceleration. I have an xp machine(for gaming) with a virtual ubuntu installed. However I cannot install beryl because of the limitations of the system. If there is a way and I missed it, let me know.
I don't know, I wish they would do what XBMC does and play any video format instead of just DRM WMV. If they would do that the 360 would be perfect. At the moment it feels crippled in that one regard.
I predict that the new OS will have the CUBE feature of Beryl and the panel of apple. Microsoft doesn't invent new technology, they steal it. I also predict the new gaming system after 360 will have controller similar to the Nintendo WII.
One of the best games made on the HL2 engine that was overlooked because HL2 was released the same day. yes the game was buggy as hell and the developers that made it broke up, not to mention the White Wolf rpg universe it is based on has ended. However, the game was awesome. Anybody who has not played it needs to find themselves a copy (probably find it for $5 in a bargain bin somewhere) and PLAY IT. If they make a sequel it will probably be set in the new game universe of vampire requiem, Which is fine by me since the rules actually give it a lot more freedom with the story.
I also would like to see another Hitman game but, I would like to see it made for the WII. The possibilities of the WII controller on a Hitman game makes me squirm with anticipation.
"phoenix wright justice all" for the DS that comes out this month. The first Phoenix Wright did so well that the demand outpaced the supply, the company had to do a reprint of the game to keep up. This is one game on my MUST HAVE list.
Perhaps someone should accuse the creaters of the law of a sex crime. Also, is there any rule that states that men can't accuse women of the same thing? By law, couldn't a guy accuse a girl of a bogus sexual assualt and drag her name in the mud? Just pointing to a few dozen open cans of worms here.
The definition of illegal/covert constantly changes and not always for the better. For example, we know that this Administration has considered stopping Pornography as important as terrorism. So if you have EVER called a porn distributer and ordered a porn video/product for whatever reason, you are in a file database associated with them. If the government ever made owning porn illegal, they know exactly whose house to raid.
One thing that hasn't been mentioned is, how much the games will cost for the PS3. We already have to pay $60+ for 360 games, how much will blueray games cost? $70-$90? more? I think if games cost more than $60, it will pretty much kill the PS3.
I have been keeping an eye on this game since I first heard of it at E3. For those of you who want to keep up with this game, go to http://www.gamingsteve.com/ and check out the spore forum at http://gamingsteve.com/blab/index.php?board=12.0 , Will Wright and the developers often check what is written there.
I would be all for saving Enterprise if it wasn't for the fact that every episode is a propaganda machine for the Iraq war. Ever since 911 most of the episodes have something that sounds like it came off the news channel, "We must stop terrorism", "A stable empire is good for us", "our enemies don't want your people to have peace, the only way to stop them is too stand up to them"..etc..etc
There is no creativity to this, it is simply hearing whats on the news and putting it in a Star Trek Universe. If they go back to exploring then it might be worth saving.
Ironically, they are becoming the very thing we were trying to avoid in the first place.

We need a new name that describes mature video games in more mature terms. the same way that graphic novels separated itself from comic books.
It gets worse, google will be putting ads in games too: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/75572-Go ogle-Announces-Adsense-for-Games

Now, if we can get sony to let AO games (manhunt 2) to be made on PS3 then they will most likely win the format war.
There is no good intentions about this. This is about preventing embarrassing videos of police and polititions ending up on youtube.
FCC = FEDERAL CENSORSHIP COMMITTEE The are like the RIAA of television. Turning everything they touch to *Bleep*

With the trend of gas prices going up every year, it is more likely that hybrids will become more mainstream sooner.

I would like to see a law passed that allow companies to countersue stupid parents who blame other people for their lack of parenting skills.

Am I miserable because I am sick, or am I sick because I am miserable?

She could have wiped her drive because she cought a virus. She was using Imesh and Bearshare after all.
If so they are doing a lowsy job, more likely they are using it to spy on the oposition party.
