agreed. i keep wondering if this got started under diana? although i'm not a fan, it WAS impossible to not notice her, and she was very interested in figuring out a way to do something about this problem. and it is a grave problem. hopefully as time goes on this, or something like this, will provide a cheap, effective solution.
how about "surreal"? sometimes i think the whole world is one big secret handshake and i'm not in on it. who could have made this up? it's positively...orwellian.
i've worked at two publicly traded tech companies in the sales department. it is way worse than this article describes. besides the larger trends described, there are opposite effects that drive innovation out of the google type firms the author says are centralizing technology.
the revenue recognition requirements on newly innovated technology for a publicly traded firm is so onerous that publicly traded companies simply get out of certain lines of business rather than go through this. for those of us keeping score at home: a small company can't do it for reasons described in the article, and large companies can't do it for reasons i describe.
the whole SOX debacle is revenge of the bean counters. THEY were at fault for not calling enron on their bullshit, and now THEY are punishing US to "ensure" it will never happen again. had they been doing their jobs honestly to begin with, enron, et al would never have happened. now bean counters are enriching themselves by being the "expert" that can get ordinary transactions approved by the auditors. forget the complicated stuff.
we REALLY need to throw off the yoke of excessive regulation if silicon valley is ever going to take off again.
M$ contribution to computing via IBM is no accident: BG bought the os for a song from a guy with a computer shop in seattle. he then rebranded it and sold it to ibm who, at that time thought of pc's as the "entry systems division." M$ truly did f everyone else over to get where they are. By their fruits you will know them (as we see with Islam today), and the crappy performance of this OS that we see today from a security standpoint (patching vs "by design"), stability and really any other measure of its competency betrays the short cut ridden way that these guys got to where they are. Helps that bills old man is a lawyer - not even a great one at that, but I grew up in Bellevue back in the day, and I know.
Give the Woz his due. He's earned it.
splendid! nice to see our guys are getting along so well down there. you seem to be forgetting that the prisoners at gitmo are illegal combatants who were TRYING TO KILL OUR GUYS IN AFGANISTAN! they have NO rights whatsoever under our legal system. as rummy says, i hope they're being "forward leaning" enough to accomplish their mission objectives to give you the freedom to fret their methods.
you're an idiot. read this and get your facts straight before you start to spout off. this is the plea agreement.

right you are! i've had gout since i was 37. that and a heart condition and i'm pretty much vegetarian as well. what ticks me off is my dad eats bacon, eggs, greasy potatoes and buttered bread every day of his life, and he's just fine at 65. i think the difference is that his blood type is O+ and i'm A+. every one i know with early onset cardiovascular disease is A+. hmmm...

that's exactly what i thought. that $ could have been placed to a more productive use. who knows what types of innovations we were all deprived of because of those money grubbing a$$hole$. what about the companies that survived, but have been weakened by the lack of capital? what about the hard working folks that could have had a job for another year if they hadn't been bled dry by the leaches at AOL?? all so that these guys could throw $1M bat mitzvas. DISGRACEFUL.
i have the same plan, and agree with you. hard to beat that. i'm on the edge of going with the sidekick cuz my palm Vx is dying (screen) and this looks like the most bang for the buck. color is pretty, but i like usefulness.
you're an idiot! idiot = separated from the facts. i am now in a geek position after 7 years in sales. happily for me, i like to be in sales when things are good, and i have sufficient tech skills to go hide in the cube farm when things are slow. not all marketing/sales pukes fail to add value. if you're a geek who doesn't talk to sales people, you're an idiot! sales people can tell you more about your organization than you already know, i don't care how good your grapevine is! a good, ethical salesperson can also tell you about products that can help you out, even if they don't happen to sell that product, because they are happy you called them with the opportunity. salespeople can also tell you who is hiring/busy if things start to look dicey at your company, and they will do that because they care for you and you might in turn help them when you land somewhere else. you shouldn't be so stupid and short sighted cuz some used car salesman gave you a rough time. the folks that call on commercial accounts don't last long if they don't take a long term approach. grow up, look around, and expand your horizons. i'm doing you a favor you don't deserve.
still LMAO! as former military i do admire the creative use of profanity.
the words "co" and "chief" are mutually exclusive when applied to "executive." that's their first problem.

boeing moved to chicago because it wanted the best politicians money could buy after the death of scoop jackson and warren magnusun.
you (and we) do not have a democracy. never did. it's called a "republic."
is there some reason you used an s corp? why not a pass through LLC? no need for minutes, etc, much simpler administration.
