I'm forced to disagree, it is not the bean counters' fault. It is expensive to keep people in developed nations - not just salary and benefits, but taxes and office space too. A company attempting to stay competitive in a global economy does what it needs to do in order to exist. The only thing that surprises me about the movement of positions is how riled people get about it. I don't hear "You're selling in WHAT country??? You b@st@ards!" If the country is a market for products, why not the reverse? These stop being exclusively American jobs in a global economy. As to being an expert in your field, perhaps you have too much loyalty if all that you say is true. If you're that good, there's a shortage of network techs, you could move.

The government has responsibilities to the people. If those screaming had a police chopper land in their living room and chop up their little snowflake during cartoons because some bozo hit the pilot with a laser, they'd want heads rolling. Can't have it both ways - either the government does its job or not. I prefer it does, since we all live a pretty good brand of misery in the US compared to most places.

In short, a group of people decided what we should or should not see. That's censorship, no matter who is at the controls. Only the fact that the person being censored had enough money and willpower to flip them the bird got around their attempts to censor. They didn't have to publish it - that's a business process that every business must run through. When they started putting up roadblocks to publishing in any manner, then it became attempted censorship. Same thing, just the operators are a different group.

As to Roe vs. Wade, I am sick and tired of hearing people talk about this from the perspective that complete denial of a father's rights is the moral high ground. Guess what? Once conception has occured there are at least two people's rights involved - the two parents. Roe v. Wade and the idiocy since then has denied that fact repeatedly. The U.N. cannot and should not take precedence over our needs. Care about what others think? Yes, the world is too small not to. Act like every time someone gets upset with us the party in power has done something wrong? Ridiculous.

Guess what? We're all very different societies, and to a great extent the stereotypes are true. We're never going to please everyone, so we choose whom we care about pleasing.

To lay claim that the French and Russians were right implies that we should have been selling Saddam military equipment. Idiotic. We did what needed doing. Just because some countries believe in profit first doesn't make the job any less valid, and their displeasure does not make The U.S. weenies for doing what we felt needed doing.

The U.N. is not an anti-American force for evil - it and several other "upstanding" world organizations were controlled by the Soviet Union for a while though... That's scary - but The U.N. does not have the best interests of my country at heart. Do I care about the world? Yes. Do I care more about my country and my countrymen? Yes. Hence a reluctance to give too much to the U.N.

The U.N. is also chronically slow and unable to copmlete the tasks at hand... Because you're not just doing a committee, you're doing a world committee.

Don't walk in with "this is a problem! We need to research it!" Suits tend to like things nice and tidy. If possible, give 'em an analysis document. 3. Don't spaz about it.
