Find out who Dell's representitive is in your state, go to local court house, file papers to sue them for the rebate and your wasted time and the court costs. Serve the papers to the rep from Dell, and try getting your money back that way.
May be faster, cheaper and easier than trying to get ahold of this "Dude" from Dell.

Most businesses have more than one phone number, and they are usually close together, so it is fairly likely that the apple store will have more than just the one 3100 number, and the Gates foundation lists a few numbers on their contact page.
Thus it isn't that hard to believe that the two businesses would have the same last 4 digits.
I for one, and many other people I have had over to my house can hear the ultrasonic pest devices that one of my neighbors has. Although the box says that humans can't hear it, it is very very loud and very very annoying to those who can hear it.
usually when you correct mistakes they give you cash! atleast give them a call before ranting about how bad the book is. Maybe they have already corrected the issue?
And if you don't want people to have the mistakes in the future, write in the book! make the corrections, tell your friends, have them make the corrections, how hard is it?
15 minutes for the first gentoo whore to start running their mouth? What has slashdot become? This article should be full of loudmouth Gentoo users trying to convert. They're the Mormons of the Linux world
I use Gentoo, I use Red Hat. Both are Linux. Why are we bitching? I though the whole idea was that Linux was good, not that one type of Linux was better than another.
I think the fight should be Linux vs the other OS's, like Windows and Unixes, and not this Linux distribution vs another. Lighten up, everyone.
Why thank you. Even though the mods don't think so.
I was trying to make a pun as to when all the programmers are in China, we won't be able to understand what our programs are saying. Guess I offended someone?

The US has always been a republic. Back in the "day" when the original founders decided to make up many of the rights we like today, they were only thinking of themselves. And still today, most of the people who get "elected" don't care about what their people want, they only care about getting what the rich people want (example: tax cuts for the rich? how bout tax cuts for the poor, and tax the shit out of the rich? sounds fair to me, those who can give, give). Politics has always been about money, and still is.
I don't think a dictatorship will happen, too many greedy politicians sitting in office trying to make money.
According to idot , you get a free dvd drive and free shipping with every notebook order. Thus I would assume because it isn't an option to add the optional dvd drive when configurating the system, that you would receive one with your order.
Or idot is BS and there is no optical drive for the Lindows Notebook.
I attend RPI and have a T22 from 2001-2002 freshman class, and after 180 cycles the battery is completely dead. After less than 20 min of runtime it is wasted and according to IBM's battery monitor it only has the ability to hold 7.52Wh of power when it is designed to hold 38.88Wh of power.
I used the thing on battery every other day last year and didn't have problems until I hit around the 100 cycle mark, after that it has been downhill. Maybe a marketing ploy to get ppl to buy batteries?
Does IBM have part ownership in everready? or duracell??
At RPI where I attend, the grades are given out as they should. Granted that most of the school is engineering and science, but still, in every class I have been in, there are usually just as many C's as there are A's, and I have a few friends who are on academic probation because their GPA is below a C level, and some of these kids try really hard.
Guess that other schools just need a kick in the pants some times to get their act together, cause cheating kids by giving them good grades and taking their $$$ every year doesn't seem fair to me.
I know that at WPI it is impossible to get below a C in your freshman year, as any grade given below that is considered to be no credit and does not go on the transcript. I think this is a very bad idea, freshman year isn't that hard! Kids should be forced to work hard to attain good grades!
There are many a thing I have not figured out how to do without the command line in Windows that I can do with a gui in Linux.
I may be biased, but so is everyone else.
There are very few artists represented on the sam goody website. This may be due to them wanting to show the world that they have lowered their prices for CDs, when in fact they are in reality only selling the stuff that is cheap and has always been cheap.
That is opposite of my experiences, but I guess it all depends on the place. I understand what you are saying, but a good local college that has computer courses will probably have someone who knows their shit teaching, rather than just some schmuck that took the course last year.
Paying per credit hour at a university would work, seeing as just about nothing is ever dumbed down at good schools, and those who lag behind are usually told to leave the school.
Many universities have clusters and huge numbers of unix machines open for use, and by going there you may even get a leg into getting a job if you show that you know your stuff.
Why not check out some local community colleges? Many have expensive hardware that you can play with and will teach you lots of stuff that would never even be on one of those exams.
electrons don't go the speed of light thru copper.
They go a bit slower as they have mass;) and there are lots of imperfections in the wires to slow them down.
I wouldn't want to lug an "External 12 Cells 2000mAh, 88Wh Li-lin battery (sold seperately)" around with me. A laptop should be a laptop, not a desktop that sucks battery power, regadless of what os it is running.

They are not a better mouse trap.
Icewm is pretty good, fast, easy, kind of looks like windows.

see what happens ;)
