It does, doesn't it?
Maybe they'd have a weighing system in that to combat it: i.e. you put a pound of dutch loaf in the cart. That detects a pound, you scan it, and that pound is now accounted for. Dock with a POS terminal that checks your weight after scanning vs. weight when passing through, do a checksum...and if everything meets a standard deviation or two, it goes through.
'course, that's just my guess.
Dristone/Drillstone mode is a sort of RPG mode, and I guess the US version doesn't have it--Namco did reply to an inquiry about the exclusion of some features here.
"We didn't have the time to implement the some elements/features in order to make the DS launch date in North America,"
Which is kind of funny, as they launched simultaneously.
Every PS Underground disk I've seen has a disclaimer that it's not final code, and may not work correctly...so you may have a little trouble getting it to work in court.
I would like to say that my copy crashed all the time. I would like to say that the graphics dropped all the time. Heck, I'd like to say that the disc just didn't work. Then I'd have a big reason to hate it.
But alas, it's just a bunch of penny-ante stuff that adds up and makes CoN so annoyingly bad. The biggest offender overall, though, is the drop system. Defeated a monster in the tree-tops in the first fight...he drops a magical dagger with 32-40 damage + lightning damage. At this point, I'm like "whoa." Three acts later, I still haven't seen anything as good as that dagger.
And heck, what about the pathetic bosses? Dodge, hit, dodge, hit. They were built so that a group of people could just gang up and beat on them from all sides. That's it. Even in singleplayer (Seeing as how dialup play, and hence online play I could access, was sadly left out) it was painfully obvious that the boss characters were simply regular enemies with stronger attacks.
Although it's cool that companies are finding legit uses for BT (I believe the Worlds of Warcraft beta is being distributed this way), I'm not sure the legal departments are up to speed yet. To quote one of the fellows in my IRC chat:
"Hrm, WoW is bing distributed by Bittorrent. Meanwhile, I get angry phonecalls from Vivendi to shut down Bittorrent."
Yay for technical advances, but can commercial interests fully embrace it without killing the "evils" of it?
When Linux finally is available in a GUI only OS, I'll be right there to pick it up. Too many years of Windows has made me leery of anything I can't just click on to do.
There's only one downside, though. Will Joe Six-Pack looking for a cheap computer neccessarily like working command line bits to use their computer as they want?
Does it function well as a sticker?
Long story short:
People buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games. Third parties get stiffed almost unanimously.
...would it be beating a dead horse? I'm here all week, ladies and gentlemen. Don't forget to tip the wait staff.
Ideally, this system would also be mixed with a motor drive for the wheels so that I can be propulsed directly towards the cheetos and mountain dew.

All I know is, when I write Porky's IV, it'll have this device in it.
GMR was a great magazine, while it lasted. Can't accout for XBM, but I hear it was pretty damn fine itself...
The biggest problem I have with the whole situation is that the realization came after an Electronics Boutique email was posted on an internet forum.
I feel for the guys that lost their labors of love yesterday--and to find it out that way? Jeez.
That's alright, it's easy to misconstrue. Of course, the idea that they could code in two extra modes in two weeks is sort of ludicrous.
:P
And what about the fact the "detect other DS's" is taken out of the US DS?
...but also, apparently an entire mode.

It was the pirate babes, seriously. I get seasick. :-\

That's a picture of his girlfriend. :P

Meh.

...dear god, think of the possibilities. A robot with the ability to play a trumpet constantly...endlessly. The annoyance will be legendary.
You missed "First post, bitchzzzz, it's been such a long time," didn't you?
...I think I'll pirate this. ;)
I've heard from time to time (albeit prety sparsely) of companies threatening legal action for using their images on a website/forum/etc.
Is there any written law that backs it up, or is it just baseless threats?

Oh, I've wasted my life.
...how long it'll take Richard Branson to express annoyance that he hasn't taken a balloon there yet.
