How about a game where you *ARE* breasts? You could shoot breast milk at the bad guys (underwire bras perhaps?), get powerups to become huge and mesmerize the enemy, crush your opponents underneath with your 'bounce attack' and use your surroundings (the beach, strip bar, plastic surgeon's office) to camouflage yourself.
Enemies could include a newborn (your life force is draining!), middle school boys (the devious purple nurple!), and Fundies (...harlot! Bind those objects of Satan!)
I think the solution to this 'breast obsession' is to make all game devs watch 'Showgirls' at least 20 times. I saw it once and was sick of tits for at least 2-3 hours.
Anyone out there have a fav phone that works well with iSync? I'd like to get one soon, but would like to hear what/.ers have to say about the good, bad and ugly.
Ideally a camera phone, good interface, decent battery life, and indescructable is what I'm looking for...;)
No userbase or lazy virus writers doesn't change the fact that at present there aren't any viruses for the mac. This also doesn't change the fact that out of the box, OS X is far more secure than Windows. You aren't going to be '0wnz3d' during a OS X install.
With all the programmers out there, one might find writing the 'first' mac OS X virus a challenge or a feather in their cap - yet there aren't any to be found.
If a virus writer wants recognition, what better way than to attack the 'virus free' mac?
I guess I will stay with my 'yuppie artsy know it all userbase' and enjoy not having to purchase a firewall, virus software, and all the other crap that is necessary to run Windows with an internet connection.
I've heard more PC users say this than Mac users. It's indicative of the lack of general education about computers, and how little Apple spends to combat FUD. Apple has changed a lot in the last 10 years, but it seems that the general 'mindshare' is stuck back in '93. Still, I'd rather do DP on a mac than a PC anyday. Considering that's what I do for a living....
"Mac is best for video editing"
The TV show Scrubs is made with FCP - hardly 'prosumer'. There is the 'Sky Captain' movie that was done mostly with Macs. Renderfarms may be PC, sure. But the cutting and editing are done on a Mac in most cases.
Most PC users I know use a PC because they don't buy into all that Mac FUD.
heh. Most PC users I know have a PC because they have the appearance of being cheaper. At first. They also don't bother to educate themselves. Add up all the time/$$$ spent battling viruses alone, and you got yourself a Mac.
I know that what takes several hours on a PC (reinstall WinXP, apps, and drivers) takes less than an hour on my mac. I'll sit out on my deck having a beer or get some work done while you guys dick with Windows.
First of all - if it is a digital download, shouldn't it be a Dutch Auction (with infinite 'items'). 2nd - Why is there 6+ days to go? A download sale depends on impulse, not the best deal. I can go to iTunes and preview, buy, and listen in the space of a couple of minutes for the same price as this one 6+days from now.
3rd - "sellers chosen for the pilot have to ensure copyright protection for the content and meet service-level agreements." If I wrote it, it's got copyright protection. That's what copyright does - protects my work when I create it. Or are they talking about some DRM scheme? It's not clear.
4th- If DRM is required, how does it get put on? Will someone send me a Windows-Only exe to screw with my track? Do I have to send a wav somewhere? Again not clear.
Ebay. Stick with what you do. Leave the failing at a Digital Music Store to everyone else.
When I don't have time to figure out goddamn control chars, and just want to edit a config file without having to resort to IRC, man pages, and poor documentation -
I USE FUCKING PICO.
All the commands are right there. On the screen.
Maybe this elitist attitude is why Linux isn't ready for the desktop. Now mod me Troll, bitches.
For the record - I RTFA, and although I am not a dev, think I have a handle on what Dtrace does.
Would this *not* be an antidote to code bloat? I am rather puzzled why my parent post was slapped with -1 troll. Is bloat dear to the moderator? *hint hint*
It's really quite intuitive.
Well, duh. It says 'Windows Version 1' in the story.
I would have thought they'd at least support Windows 3.1.
I'm just looking forward to the Prodos version!
I need to know, as I am conflicted.
On one hand, a good punch in the nose may do him good.
On the other hand, hasn't he suffered enough? Why add injury to insult?
hmm. Perhaps punching him in the nose until he is sad is the answer...
Decisions, decisions.
Go ahead! Slashdot them! That will teach them to steal ad revenues!
It's True!
Microsoft abuses children! Think of the Children! Switch to Linux!

What is that in years? I left my month to year conversion chart at church.
It isn't the 'terrorists' we need to worry about - it's those who would 'save' us from them.

Isn't this like what SCO does? Tries to sell something that is given away somewhere else?

AEWSOME!
should be:
"I am betting we will take it in the ass from Sony in the next generation."
Really, that is far more plausable.

Pico! All bow before it!
Why can't Jobs just give ID a couple of G5s to guaranty that an OS X version is released simultaneously?
This content author has villified every artist who has ever had their work reverse engineered.
This is a great day for copyright, authors, and those downtrodden by IP terrorists!

Just wondering.
