Genetic Drift? Obviously this comment got modded up because it sounded fancy. Genetic drift is how random fluctuations in the population affect the frequency of certain genes. In large populations it has pretty much zero effect on anything, and does not come close to causing speciation, or really anything related to this article.

Oh come on. Remember when you were at school? Are you trying to tell me that you learnt as much in lessons where you were bored than in ones that you were interested in. Look at peoples hobbies - if you are interested you remember without even trying. If more people are attending, it is only because they are having more fun, and are more interested. This WILL make them learn more.
Yes, it still was very arrogant. Brioche is as expensive and special as cake - the poor people did not eat it. It was only translated as "cake" because most people outside of France do not know what brioche is.
Interestingly, the apostrophe is a recent invention. It is not a real punctuation mark, but a printers note which has found its way into mainstream English use. It is the only punctuation mark to have absolutely no effect on pronunciation.
I made one of these with my sister in Georgia a few years ago, we called it the spudzooka. They will need luck getting the stores not to sell the pipes - we did not know really what kind of stuff to get, but after we told the shop assistants what we were making they pointed us in the right direction and gave us tips! Knowing the kind of people that generally work in hardware stores, I bet this will be happening in Germany too. I was never brave enough to make one back in the UK, god knows what the police would say, but I don't want to find out.
This would not be a turbocharger. A turbo compresses air into the cylinders. It would be more like an intercooler, which makes sure that the air from the turbo is not too hot (and therefore less dense)
Depends how far you are looking at it from, doesn't it?

The pupils gave the teacher an apple. Looks like it's the other way round now.

If you walk past the camera holding a license plate, will the real owner of that plate get charged? Could be a popular practical joke.

Whenever there is a neat new technology out it always comes out for Windows first, then *nix, then Mac
This is not true, what about Firewire? This is only around now because Mac stuck with it, and it was then picked up by the PC manufacturers.
