This way you could tie particular users to their VLANs, not the machines to the ports, which can be quite annoying when a user wants to change his/her desk.
802.1x should be combined with some decent endpoint security solution (see recent Gartner reports on this)
Last week I've seen PSP in huge electronics store (Media Markt) for 2000PLN (which makes it over $650) laying down next to Nintendo DS priced at 670PLN, which makes around $230.
Funny, isn't it ? And all this definitely in EU.
I wonder what makes such big difference between the two...
I think that you should read something in wikipedia before using arguments about dropping anything.
changing name would break naming scheme, which is currently clean and easy to understand. What if the protocol changes to version 12 ?
Again!
no, really - it's 16 years since the communist era officially ended in this part of Europe, and you still can't get good standard mapping software:(
I mean - there are a lot of hardware security modules that can be used for building trusted systems right now. Isn't the only purpose of pushing things like TCPA locking the platform down ?
And what about all pr0n lovers - "Private Browsing" feature found in Apple's Safari browser - when You turn PB on, you don't leave any traces in the browsers bookmarks, cookies, cache, et al.
the same here for 0.9.1 - Fortunately this affects only the active _window_ tabs. So if You want to switch theme on the fly, first you have to open a new window using Ctrl-N, then fire up Tools->Themes,
switch to the new theme, and then close now-useless window. but of course it's a bug, a serious one, I think.
I also suggest checking ( http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=226791 ) this bug report (links from/. to bugzilla not allowed:)
I think, that you can call it "Thirteen, the Game" - as opposed to the comic book series, if You want to take a glimpse of the books - take look at
this site with good cover images.
XIII is a pseudonym of the main hero of the book, and i don't think that you can call anyone "ecks-eye-eye-eye" - You'd rather call him "thirteen"
it shouldn't be a big problem since you can get it bundled with linux magazines - no need to download. the real problem is - how will they bundle any commercial apps with the download edition - because commercial app is not sth you could get easily bundled with any mags.
does it mean special donload sites, activation keys for non-free software or what ?
one more thing is that some companies simply need physical media of posessed software due to some nonsense legal reasons.. when they buy some soft they want to have a box...
do you remember that movie with dustin hoffman running into the nazi dentist?
It was Marathon Man directed by John Schlesinger.
I wonder if that lawyer had this kind of dentist on his mind;) here is the review of that film

um.. Windows machines ? Let's say - we upgrade them to linux, as it does everything our old folks need ? :)
Firefox and Thunderbird included, of course

Actually P900 has Memory stick, not SD
As Mikes' site is already slashdotted
here goes google cache link for this.
why don't You buy yourself iRiver iHP-120 - as purely USM device it should work great in Linux.
In fact, I'm going to buy one myself, due to lack of features like USM in iPod.
Size of the interface graphics depends only on the resolution you are using.
On my 21" CRT in 1600x1200 the interface is quite small and unobtrusive.

I wonder, if TRON was embedded system - how could they use it for school computers,
or maybe we should compare it to QNX ?
