I was under the impression the dot matrix printers of the 1980's were the loudest most annoying peices of computer equipment ever created. We had to put them in sound dampening boxes just to minimize hearing damage.
A unique TLD will be (almost certainly) able to be claimed by a TM owner. Typing "disney" as a URL will default to "http://.disney/". They will not ignore this.
Doesn't defining your own TLD basically do this? I mean if you want.brenth or.bhardy or.brenthardy or.brentrandalhardy or whatever, you just register what you can get. If they (ICANN) limit it to 5 or 6 characters then sure they're just doing a money grab. If they open it up tho', squatting becomes kinda pointless.
I'm sure it will upset current domain squatters and create a new generation of them. But, if it opens up the probability of simpler and smaller domain names, I have to support it. I can think of a couple of hundred TLDs that I will contest because if I control them people (and/or their companies) will want to (and get to) use them for their own benifit.
So he didn't know Vogel was in GA? I don't get it, what was the big deal?
1) Take I-20 going towards ATL until you get to I-285. 2) Go north on I-285. 3) Go north on GA400. 4) Follow the signs when you get near Dahlonaga. 5) If someone tells you, "You got a perty mouth." you'll know you made it.
Hell you could start in Abilene TX and follow those directions.
My theory was the price of UK kit was the US price + the cheapest ticket from KDY to Heathrow.
There is no "minimum sales tax" in the US. We have shipping and handling here (a negotiable fee that can be 0%) and state sales tax that doesn't apply to out of state buyers.
As I recall, direct electrical stimulation, eventually killed the nuerons. Though I don't know why they couldn't eventually have a mechanical-to-biological interface that duplicated the natural one non destructiveness.
This is good advice for most notebooks if you have the option on a BTO machine or if you are replacing your battery. The upgrade from 4cell to 8cell is usually cheaper than buying a second battery, it gives you enough juice to occasionally run the notebook at full speed and it's one less thing you have to carry around.
But that isn't true today. The crushing tyranny has produced stability when "other" governments have created economic chaos. China now effectively owns the USA, and has the humanpower to overwhelm it in every way short of military might (though I would not call a nuclear defeat a win).
I would call myself a supporter of "raising" the people of China to middle class standards of "the west" but the west seems determined to eradicate the middle class leaving only lords and serfs.
The province of security through obscurity belongs to the "clandestine services". The USAF should focus on security through superior processing power. It's what we're paying for.
China isn't the USSR. China was perfecting captalism, bureaucracy, and massive populations while we were wading through feudalism. They don't fear our economy anymore than the sea fears the earth.
While our posts were grouped coincidentally, did you ever hear the phase "everything is forbidden"? There was an odd sense of anarchy/freedom knowing that nothing you did would pass legal scrutiny unless you had the Yaun to for it and anything you could pay for would pass...

I don't know what to make of that...

It used to go the other way. People talking about getting servers with "Xenon" processors.

I amused that a link to goatse can be merely ruled offtopic now.
Just remember to answer, "Yes, I am a god."
"I knew nothing of linux when I got it, but now do all my writing and email in the terminal with Midnight Commander, then use Lynx to email it out..."
Mission Accomplished.
Written by. Peter Paul and Mary did the version that I usually hear on the radio.
That's really more of a coffeetablebook than a notebook, innit? Why not just go for a world atlas with a 21" LCD?

There are a gazillion devices that cannot be made obsolete and refuse to die that use rs-232.
That's nothing these guys do 35mph on their prosthetics

Dear Captain Obvious,
Please send this fine fellow your password for future posts.
That's a great idea!
We could just stick all of ScuttleMonkey's subs there. JK.
