Actually... although you may still be a loser, it's not a bad link. YOu jsut have to remove the space in there( or, if you attempt to paste the link, the "%20" ), and it will work fine. *Sigh* I suppose that I am a losre now too, aren't I?
The asteroid isn't going to be hot... because that only happens once it hits the atmosphere. ( mentioned a couple posts up ) If we actually let it get that close to the Earth, we'd be screwed anyway, because it is too close. Where are we going to put this massive balloon/bag? In space, obvioulsy, far enough away to deflect the asteroid away from the Earth. Transport it... some shuttle craft, with some inflation device, probably several weeks before the asteroid arrives, if we detect it soon enough.
So... we could use two ( or more ) specially trained attack geckos to pick up the 300 pound gorrila previously mentioned, and bring down the Evil Empire's pet?
Why is parent post moderated as flame-bait? They bring up an extremely valid point. What if this list starts being used in such a way, like minority report? I see this as being a definite possibility, although maybe not an extremely likely one, but it still could happen.
No, 3ds max no longer uses the hardware dongle. As of version four, they now just use software protecion. I'm not sure about what kind of protection number 5 uses though.
Yes, and computers as well... for us here in Canada, it is still legal to copy a CD, even if it is a friend's, as long as you only use it for private use... still legal are they planning to create computers that are only anti-copying enabled in the US ( and possibly the EU... now that they are getting a variant of the DMCA ) and have that anti-copying feature disabled everywhere else?
The real question we should be asking is: If this works, how long until they figure out to actually modify the brainwaves of the people they are scanning, or to create new brainwaves/thoughts/ideas? I know if sounds crazy, but who would have thought that even reading the brainwaves were possible 10 to 20 years ago?
He feels it won't have any negative impact on his sales at all, rather, he feels that by people reading his books, and then telling othere about them, he will infact boost his sales. ( From the intruduction to the free library )
Now.. the only question is... will it whip out a virtual match and burn windows CE to bits, or any other incarnation of windows which can be run on a PDA?:)
Due to HP's wonderful policy on not wanting you to be able to install or even reinstall an OS without the built in ( just a hidden FAT partition ) rescue option... the bios'es in some of the later model computer ( mine included ) do not let you boot off of CD-ROM, period, and the motherboard is non-standard, which means that it can't be flashed so taht you can boot off of a CD-ROM... I hope that HP fixes this in the future.
...why don't we realease a Code Blue? It can be a benevolent worn ( an oxymoron, I know ) which goes around to all the nice little *nix and BSD boxes all over the world, enter their systems, fix every known security exploit, then delete itself. No wouldn't that be a wonderful idea? ( *lay on the thick sarcaasm* =] )

Well, some people are talking about a warped image when using an IMAX screen, due to the width of the screen. Perhaps if the Matrox card was out... with the Surround Gaming feature, it may actually look ok, although I don't know about the resolution... Playing Jedi Knight 2 on a huge screen would certainly be cool, though:)
Oops... must have read that title wrong, sorry, I thought that a miracle had occurred, and more people were dissing Linux than Windows... that'll only happen when Bill Gates realeases "Micronux", then we'll all have something to laugh at.:)
When you are cooking pizza in a microwave oven, it won't reach such great temperatures because pizza is not a very efficient absorber of enrgy, newer microwave ovens have sensors inside to prevent the microwave from getting that hot, and if you removed those sensors, by the time the pizza actually got that hot, it would be a nice balck colour. However, when something such as water ( a very efficient absorber of heat is used ) care must be taken to prevent something such as this [abcnews.go.com]. ( Water being superheated then flash boiling when something is placed in it )

Oooh... so now when someone is playing DOA3, and the guy on MY network gets the crap kicked out of him, one of my servers gets the crap kicked out of it as well. Now, seeing as I am pissed about that... I go and royally beat the crap outta him, and whee... look ma, I just killed www.microsoft.com
By accident? Do you really think that if we sit here and do anything we are going to lose track of history because it was an accident?
- I think that if anything, we are going to lose track of history, not because we accidentally caused it to happen, but because we are too lazy to care, sitting on our rears in front of our computers, televisions, etc... and because the government said "Well, they don't care, and it is to our advantage to control the past, so why not?"
- Thing like the Wayback Machine are a definite help to prevent this, and it is a good thing that someone takes the initiative to get something like this started.

Use Winamp 3 It now has full video support, isn't too much of a resource hog, and, if you like skins, has full support for them too.
