    I will not make any assumptions as to whether that is a joke or not, but if you were being serious, you may like to know that members of many continental European countries use a comma as their decimal point and vice versa. Alas 13,000.00 would be written as 13.000,00. As the original poster's name includes the word 'dutch' it may give an indication along this line.

    What ADSL are you talking about? I'm on plusnet ADSL and get a static IP, 8Mb/s, all for less than 20 squid! Also my traffic isn't shafted through an array of transparent proxies and monitoring equipment like it is on ntl. It's much more reliable too, and better ping responses.

    He clicked on a banner add to donate to the UK's Disasters Emergency Committee's appeal for the December tsunami in Asia, and got no confirmation page. His first thought was that this was a phising site and he'd been scammed. So he panicked and tried the directory traversal...
    So he clicked on a banner ad in lynx? Sounds fishy to me.

    That's as long as the PSP is available by Christmas! How much more can they delay it by? I am tired of hearing about you guys in America messing about with one before I evn get a chance to touch one. (I'm in the UK BTW)

    Who said anything about a better system. I would prefer an Itanium than my x86-64 box. Only thing is incompatibilities and cost. The actual technology is far superior. Another Betamax is what it is. Long live marketing.

    Not really comparable though. Print is usually based on 3-7 colours whereas these screens (I haven't looked in detail) are likely to have upwards of 1000's of colours. This will allow you to do things like antialiasing that improve the image on a like for like resolution.

    Yeah, but will the thick muggers know that? I don't think they will believe what someone else tells then and so it would take about 5 failed attempts before they realise that severed fingers don't work. Multiply that by the number of muggers and you get a lot of ruined lives.

    Just because something is impossible, doesn't mean people won't try it!

    I suppose if you are going to take notes in lectures, something that is quick to write with and enables you to draw sketches as and when necessary can be more than easily found in a tablet.

    Then, in the really boring lectures just whip open Spider Solitaire and away you go!

    This is daft!

    It's like me choosing a Renault over a Jaguar just because they woop their ass in Formula 1. Tweaking the OS on a souped up server is not the same as using an out of the box distro on bog standard hardware.

    What's the bet the 'tweaking' involves recompiling every component with hardware optimised CFLAGS etc.?

    I just tried to enter 1:30 on 13/May (won't say which year) and the confirmation page said I had entered around 11 on the 12/May. Perhaps he just did the same thing.

    Anybody else get this?
