For a fraction of the cost? Have you seen the specs? Name one name brand laptop that will offer you this (or comparable):

The power supplies aren't even standard ATX connectors. They have 4 extra pins (these are the P3 DeskPro EN series). And what's up with those slotted/torx combo screws?
Ironic that the fastest PPC is from MOTOROLA not IBM (733MHz 7450 vs 700MHz 750CXe). By the way, that didn't split the group apart. It was IBM's refusal to adopt a SIMD.
I got the impression that his TiVo is still usable, it's just more annoying to use. Try suing someone because they are annoying. Try suing microsoft because your upgrade to Windows ME from 95 broke compatibility with one or several of your programs.

In response to my own questions, Photoshop has become hugely bloated in the last couple of years. Photoshop 6 is great but my typical install is 2009 files on the Mac. That is insane. What is the Application footprint of Gimp? Does it do CMYK for the print industry?

You are correct. I was under the impression that the internal graphics was partially dependant on the CPU. Thanks for clearing that up.
That's one of the first things you turn off to protect the machine.
I'm happy it's al least processor upgradable. See here. Upgrading the processor would speed the internal graphics as well. Not a bad little bugger.
On the Mac, you would open the Finder Preferences and check "Show all file extensions" in the Advanced tab.
