Kill the shuttle and keep the science, after all they are going to spend 100 billion dollars to get back to the moon and do nothing there AGAIN, no base, no telescope, no science, most likley just golf.
Every company that sold these smartcard readers sold them with blank amtels. So when bought they are not capable of programing a card. They can not prove that you intended to steal tv becouse the unit you bought can not program card or CAMs (Conditional Access Modules). Now if you modified it with code to allow you to hack into a CAM then it is against the law. Buying a loader is not a crime and these letters and law suits are mainly a scare tactic.

I thought the sex scene just simply had no place in the movie, It was just kinda stupid. I thought the movie was great, and I am hopeing that my assumptions that this was just to fill the gaps and answer a few questions in prep for Matrix: Revolutions...

mine doesnt allow it, I put in my mac address in and I coudnt connect. The guy upstairs had to put my mac address in his identical router so I would stop connecting to his, and I put him mac address in mine. What a pain!

What I wish linksys would allow in the firmware was a mac address allow list. Right now you can only set mac addresses to block from the WAP. Kinda stupid if u ask me, why not list the mac addresses you want to allow. I know that they can be spoofed, but it makes it just THAT much harder
I seem to remember reading that the VCR has already begun to be phased out. Circut City doesnt even carry them any more. I remember reading that one of the major makers has already started to slow production of them. I think that with things like DVRs and DVD-R/RW/ect options comming just around the corner ($300 or less) VCD's are just not really going to be an industry supported medium. What do u guys think? I am writting this question in extreme hast as my professor is about to start bitching at my for not paying attention (I love campus wide wi-fi =] ) Got to dip!
Correct me if I am wrong, but planets the size of Jupiter kick off one hell of a lot of radiation. Wouldn't that be pretty brutal to any 'life' we know of, except maybe roaches? Maybe there is life there, it's like New York, where roaches rule and the humans are the pests!!!! AAHhhh. =]
Wouldn't a gas giant that large also be constantly ripping at the moon with its immense gravity? Between its parent star that is 2.5x's the size of the Sun, and a gas giant. I would be surprised if a moon could have survived with out getting torn apart very early in its life.

Why dont the airlines simply provide outlets for recharging rather then allowing people to carry there own explosives on the plane? Why not just let terrorists walk on the plane with a box w/ 'explosives' written on the outside?

A lot of company's I have worked at like to place there data center in a semi-public place. My old building had a large glass window that separated their reception area with from a portion of the data center. Mind you that security was not compromised as all monitors where some one could oversee any pertinent information where not viewable from the reception area. This was a concern that was addressed. This little 'building mod' added a bit of esteem to the office. People who came into the office allways spent at least 10-15 mins looking at the servers becouse the room was just impressive. Like some one mentioned earlier, if a person who is not technically inclined sees a impressive data center it might influence them in some way, and it just looks damn cool.
You me and every one else on this board would appreciate them at face value, I know the difference between the quality of NETGEAR and CISCO, but most do not. Lights and cosmetics influence a lot of decisions, don't underestimate looks, they do play a big role.
What's wrong with choosing the best embryos? I know if I had the money I would go "GATTTICA" on my kids. Why should I? Why not make sure your kids have every possible advantage. Right now $600k is a little out of hand, then again the first computers cost this much and now they are $600.00 clams at Wal-Mart. Technology is always expensive at first and then becomes less expensive with time. Again I ask Why not make sure that your kids have all the advantages that u never had. Afraid to loss you job, by the time any of this could affect you, YOU WILL BE DEAD! It's got to start sometime, why not NOW?
People, I love sci-fi just as much as the next nerd, geek, trekie, or what ever; but come on. If some one made a movie that really adhered to ever law of physics what would you have, one bad sci-fi movie. This is what we call SUSPENSION OF DISBELIFE. Major things like maybe tweak me in movies like Sigourney Weaver holding on as the atmosphere in her spaceship is rushing out into the vacuum of space with an alien holding on. I know that it would look that way, and the entire atmosphere would be gone in less then a second. Think about it, regardless of some of us knowing it wouldn't happen that way wasn't it a cool scene?
Would star wars look cool if there where no laser beams? Don't you think the fact that tidal forces and volcanic eruptions caused by a mother ship in earth orbit add just a little too much complexity to ID4? I mean as if they were not dealing with enough stuff. Deal with it and just keep going out and watching the movies, they just for fun. If you really have to have accuracy tune into TLC or Discovery, not HBO.
The only reason I liked Morpheus is becouse my roommates can handle its simplicity and there is no spy ware. I let me roommates use my computers and they installed KAZAA and I ran a spy ware detection program and it's riddled with spy ware. I know there are some other clients out there but it kinda pisses me off that Kazaa shut them down. Maybe Kazaa doesn't like the fact that there program advertises the fact that it doesn't contain spy ware?
Technology is the new form of evolutions. In today's modern world it costs to have a child. It costs money to procreate. The poor cannot afford to have children, there for the wealthy procreate and the wealthy are mentally able. The largest strongest males are not the genetic superiors. The smartest most mentally adaptable are the ones who are able to get the best jobs get the best pay and afford to have children. How can evolution be over when genetic engineering is just coming of age? We are on the verge of the ability to control our development down to the genomic level. This technology came through the procreation of the smartest and not the fittest that gave us the great minds to be able to do this. We are only at the dawn of our evolution, not the dusk. The dinosaurs where here for millions of years, humans have been around for 50-60,000 years, who's to say we have stopped evolving. I certainly don't believe this, do you really?
