There's no hidden power, there's just incomplete documentation and limited usability. But I really doubt that these 9 things aren't mentioned anywhere. And these Special URLs are are just like in Konqueror .Maybe Nautilus would be still useful for common tasks if I didn't use Konqueror all the time. But I didn't know how to get rid of the gnome-desktop in ICEWM when nautilus was started.

I have my portable iRiver ogg vorbis player but I still watch DVD@my PC because I won't buy a player without ogg support. Well, and I don't want to buy that Neuston Maestro that supports ogg. While there are not many vendors to choose I don't want to waste time to encode my music with a losy ten year old 3rd generation codec. These files are already trash while they are written by the encoder. I'll keep ogg vorbis until anyone invents the free 5th generation codec ;-)

  13. I have my iRiver iFP-890 on iPod May Not Have The Horsepower For Ogg [updated] · · Score: 0

It plays ogg vorbis very well but it has lower/upper bitrate limits. However 48kbit isn't CDquality (with any Codec) and I can't hear any difference between 160 and 320kbit. My quality5-files are accepted. ogg vorbis is free, oggenc is faster than lame (highest quality) and it produces better soundquality at lower bitrates. I just use oggenc -q5 and I'm happy.

Just get a Athlon64 3000+ and run it at 800Mhz when idle. This means a consumption of ~35W and a powerful heatpipe + fan @ 0 rpm. You only get noise when you really use its power. This solution scales very well. A Via Chip hasnt any power even if you demand it.

They always use the same outdated games and a lot of synthetic benchmarks. Much more important is that they dont use a SuSE9 for AMD64 and they dont tell me whether the 512kb extra cache are still unimportant in 64bit mode. Maybe the 3000+ sounds like the better choice but fails in 64bit mode compared to the 3200+.

Just forget -R. The burning process isnt that safe, you lose more space for multiple sessions (72 and 90MB instead of 2 with +Standard)), both medias cost the same, it uses inferior parity algorith. And by the way I didnt have compatibility-issues. My Pioneer (!!!) DVD-ROM (DVD 116) just reads +R and not -R !!!!! and all DVD-Players that are sold now read both medias. Ricoh, Philips and the others are just the smarter companies. I love their stuff. Schugy
