I live in Racine, WI. Beautiful little city, south of Milwaukee (born and raised, 20 years) and north of Chicago. I live and work about 1/2 mile west of Lake Michigan and as such, have a meteorlogical buffer; little snow, 15 degrees cooler on average during the summer (Milwaukee baked a couple weeks back, we barely broke a sweat). Not to mention all the Wi-Fi a guy can handle, three of the best bakeries in the universe within a 5 minute bike ride, and living on the 3rd story of a building on top of a huge hill. No floods, tornados, earthquakes or anything.
If the great lakes flood, I'm screwed, but given my altitude I'd just hop in and swim away.;P
Except that if everyone switches to satelite radio, not even a large percentage, but lets say 25%, for some of the smaller independants that played the niche music that can be found in greater quantities on satelite (the all-africa-all-the-time channel etc.), those smaller stations may be challenged to widen their base to keep commercial income, so years down the line when they switch back due to satelite becoming too commercial, the channels don't exist in the same form anymore. Now its the sometimes-africa-though-mostly-suburban-pap channel.
You do realize this is a debate between two authors, and there is only a limited number of words available to express a distinct thought? They were debating two sides, and yes, they were repetitive, that sometimes happens in debates, be they online or irl.
My old as crap sony ericsson t237 from cingular has a call management feature that lets me select groups to accept calls from. I can select to accept calls from the list, from all, or from none. Why cant you just put all the people you are most commonly expecting calls from in the "whitelist" and select to accept calls only from the list? Any other calls are directed to voicemail, where you can choose to ignore or reply at your leisure. Another benefit of this is that your voicemail message will convey who you are to the caller, and simple misdials will realize and most likely hangup. I do not see what the big deal is? What am I missing?
I think the whole bigfoot thing was a spoof on the fact that they seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel for new myths, and that perhaps his days are numbered before they go about busting him too. I think it is their way of saying 'no, we wont be going down that road, trust us, we have better stuff coming in the next season'.
yet another demo where the lags and hangups are blamed on MS. Come on now, you should be able to get your software to do what you want it to do when you need to do it, especially if its for a demo of your newest and greatest product.
Come on. 60 gigs in less space than a twinkie. I cant see this prognostication being that far off, except that its ironic he makes claims about being anti-consumer while pushing his own flavor of DRM down our throats. *sigh*
I've had this happen a few times. Example: My wedding reception pictures, shot on a dozen little crap cameras... some captured bared breasts of my friends. Walmart developed and printed every other picture but those, and inserted a note saying that certain pictures did not meet their decency standards. They included the negs, so I made prints on their negative reading kiosk, but eh, I honestly dont blame them. I got my negs, its all good. Digi prints though.... thats another issue..
Beside that, something I always thought I noticed about google news is that they take the time to say where they got it from. Is it not true, that by giving credit to the owner of the idea/content/text, you are doing exactly what copyright requires? How does this differ from using a Bibliography to give credit to references in a paper?
Except isnt it true that there are versions of the MSAntispyware util that report versions of mozilla/firebird/etc as being untrustworthy security risks? wouldnt that be the same as ford putting a automated audible message in all their cars when they start to get buggy and the owners begin to think of whether its worth it to repair or replace, that says "dont go to dodge, their products will make your kids cross eyed" or some such? its anti-competitive for sure, and most novices who may be interested by the idea of firefox may be scared away by that concept. Now yes, its new, and supposedly that software has been fixed/changed, but the fact that it happened at all points a big flaming finger at MS and their ideas on the competitors, even in the browser market. Browser war over? sure, but watch out for those Guerilla Mozillas... (does that rhyme?... good name for a seedy hotel band...:))
As you have probably noticed, we have often had downtimes. This was because it was so hard to keep this site up! But now we are sorry to inform you all, that SuprNova is closing down for good in the way that we all know it. We do not know if SuprNova is going to return, but it is certainly not going to be hosting any more torrent links. We are very sorry for this, but there was no other way, we have tried everything.
Thank you all that helped us, by donating mirrors or something else, by uploading and seeding files, by helping people out on IRC and on forum, by spreading the word about SuprNova.org. It is a sad day for all of us!

This sounds hella cool, but as you and another poster on this thread have neglected to mention, How does one go about doing this? Where did you go to get it done?
its a matter of pessimism vs optimism. You see a statement that says Slam a revolving door, and you see a slew of options. I see it and see one, slam the door, using nothing but the door. So in essence, we are both correct, just depends on your stance, pessimist or optimist.
as was no doubt pointed out elsewhere, my solution, (though I saw another in another post) is to warp the dimmensions of the door, whilst one of the pannels swings free of the track. I pass a door of this type everyday on my way to work (411 w wisconsin ave, milwaukee... the door, not my job). Nobody ever said the door was made of static materials. Just warp one pannel, out lets say half an inch, or shrink the jam by half and inch, as the door continues to freely swing, BAM! It slams against itself. Slamming a revolving door. (the other solution I will agree falls under the strictest sense of the challenge involves knocking the door off its center post, causing it to tip onto its side.)
any other solutions, not involving foreign and extraneous objects?
So close yet so far. A door without hinges has a neutral closed position, whereas the door rests against the jam. This is common when the installing carpenter is worth their weight in 10penny nails. To say that a door without hinges cannot be slammed is inconsievable, as a door without hinges is not a door, it is a board and a door case. Hinges are not accesories, as a knob and lock are. one can still operate the door wihout them, though as I stated before, without the hinges, a door you have not.
swing and a miss, strike 1.
since when did a door that has been slammed need either a knob (or latch, as you say) or lock? I have on the front of my home, a door. it is a screen door. It has no latch, and no lock. it has a spring however, which keeps it in a neutral closed position. Are you saying this door cannot be slammed, as it has not a lock or latch?
swing and a miss strike 2
A slamming revolving door is allowed to slam against any external part? Fine, but that is not what the original post stated. it said to slam the door. not against a board, or against your head, it said to slam the door. Now when I slam a door, I do it against itself, thusly slamming the door against the door, but as that is doubly redundant, we just say I slammed the door. You can surely slam it against a 2xn, but that is not slamming the door, it is slamming the door against something else. So again, I say, You cannot slam a revolving door.
swing and A miss, strike three, YOUR OUTTA HERE!
note: not to be a dick, but i Know of a way to slam a revolving door, that satisfies all arguments, and does not involve any external items, latches or otherwise. Interested in how? reply and I shall reveal.
again, the lock is not technically part of the door, it is an independant member, attached to the door to perform some function. in your standard door, you have a case, jam, and the door itself, attached to the formers by means of hinges. this is all a door is. knobs, 2xn's and locks are all addons. is a computer any less a computer without multimedia capabilities? is a door any less a door without a lock? to let the door slam against the lock is valid, but not when your asking for the door to slam against itself. therefore i argue, slaming a revolving door is quite impossible.
but due to the friend based invite model that this site employs, maybe the english speaking memebers of the site should start inviting more english speaking people, to equal if not overtake the brazillian tally.
i was doing a bit of a cleanup and secure job on my girlfriends roomates comp yesterday and found well over 300 pieces of spyware and malware, not counting legitimately installed adware. I cannot feasibly imagine how this happened, but most of it seemed to be multiples of each kind, and when counted that way the count is down to about 75 different pieces of crap. guh when will people learn??
I dont believe there is such a thing as Misinformation, rather it is an opinion. Many times, in the case of these banner ads in question, that opinion is expressed by a body (microsoft) held in the general public to be a large company and therefore they must know what they are talking about. I think alot of people believe that advertisments must be true because if not, its slander or libel *I frankly get them confused* and would get sued over the false advertisement.
Misinformation? no. Opinion given by a party held by the majority of the public to be a trustworthy source? yes.
usually dont reply to AC's but I'll bite. I've had a LaCie external burner that never quite worked in OS9 or X. Same with my Microtek Scanner and my cannon printer. Sure they "work" but OSX has a strange habbit of forgetting that they exist, dropping the connections to the devices. Never once had that problem with any of the above hardware when attached to a pc.
I concur. Works great. Lets you know when the region coding may give you errors, allows you to choose the audio versions being included, such as dts or whatever if available. can be kinda pokey though, but the built in burning support if you have nero installed is just marvelous. *weep* nifty software.
Google around for vendors
AAAAAaand, you're sunk.
