    Actually Texas is a odd case, as It CAN secede,
    as it was an independant Republic prior to becoming a state.

    It can also split itself into up to 5 states.

    There have been some interesting studies done (usually someones final year project in college) that makes it appear Texas would be a very powerful country in its own right if it did secede.

    This is not meant as a troll, I am curious if it would be a possibility.

    (It's Free, nice IDE with non-ide options, and import export functions, CVS capabilities (hooks).

    Support for some CVS replacement might be a weekend coding project...? (Subversion...)

    ONLY if you redistribute a program under the GPL you have modified... If you only use it "in house" no issues.

    Your code is YOUR code, if you don't GPL it and distribute it, it does not get magically "infected" by running alongside GPL code.

    If you steal GPL code and call it yours--You're scum anyway.

    That money hasn't exactly been wasted--- All that R&D is applicable to exactly the purpose you are proposing.

    It is being tested as we speak in Iraq.

    All you world need are orbiting versions of same for most smaller incoming bodies, probably nuclear tipped.

    Of course that would violate atreaty or two...

    I aggree completely, main reason I bought a S450, my son has a s600, even refills bought retail are almost cheap, and the print quality is awesome.

    Refilling yourself is brain dead easy.

    Highly recommended.

    Well supported with gimp-print and CUPS.

    Knoppix (with minor tweaks) rocks, even just as an advanced Debian installer.

    I have yet to find a PC that is new enough to boot off the CD that Knoppix doesn' autodetect everything of consequence.

    (Lucent winmodem , NVidia drivers on next release?)

    Runs FAR faster on mt old laptop than RH8,8.0.9? beta, WAY faster than MDK 9.0 (but what isn't))

    Except in Texas, wher the locals can arrest you for a seatbelt violation if they don't like the way you look.

    This was fought unsucessfully all the way to the US Supreme court, which found (majority) with the police state.

    Just tried RH8, MDK 9.

    RH7.2 and MDK8, SUSE 7> all previously autodetected and correctly configured Voodoo3s...

    Both autodetect and configure Voodoo3 and Radeon 7500 (what I have handy) during install, and hardware accel is enabled by default, it can be deselected during install.

    Installing Knoppix 3.1(Debian unstable, basically) configures it properly, but accel does not work on the Radeon.(Haven't jacked with it further, cool distro otherwise, on my short list)

    I have burned ~8 copies of this for folks around here, used it to save some data off a friends new laptop (XP home) when it decided to eat itself.

    I literally don't leave home without it.

    I also did an install off the CD, and then just did an "apt-get update" ... Made me wanna cry tears of joy... Well. maybe not tears, but major warm fuzzies in any case.

    Kudos to Mr, Knopper!!!

    I have seen too many places where the one or two unix geeks, who in their spare time keep everything running, (has another primary job) is replaced by a horde of MSCEs and Windoze box, all thrashing wildly and never up.

    Makes you want to run screaming...

    If the magnetic field weaker, the "funneling" effect is also weaker, and less ozone is created, and "holes" form.

    Or I could be on crack. Seems too sensible.

    Interesting how the timetables seem to coincide nicly, too.

    Video kiosks have been around since the Amiga hit the street in `8, and probalbly well before that

    They were used mostly to provide ads, directions, etc, but some were used as POS systems (of a sort) and I vaguely remember seeins a few connected to vending machines.(possibly a demo)
