Completely agree. The alternatives of paying for support are: 1) To sell proprietary product, which is worse. 2) To go out of business (essentially to have no product at all).
I completely agree with that. BTW, why all OSes use "FILES" concept? Files are a crap! It's a obsolete thing from the times when 20 MB hard drive cost $800. Why not to have an "object" as a main data holding unit on disk? Why not have good search capabilities a la database? Why not have fine-grained security control with (finally) least needed visibility principle implemented?! People should think about creating object-oriented layer disk system as a base of a modern OS.
No... if you want to, you can have additional Security Officer that will give "tickets" for admin actions. If you want working architecture that use this concept go to www.rsbac.de
You mean that IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WE RECEIVE 100% LOWERING IN WAGES, FOLLOWED BY A 50% VALUATION OF THE DOLLAR BY THE CENTRAL BANK? Uh oh... it's much worse...
Ok... BUT! I cannot fully share your whining, because a lot of stuff becomes MUCH easier today. No. Simple NO scholarships. Education expenses should be paid from federal taxes. That's it.
PB - Peta Bytes.
(no relation to PETA which is animal rights group).
in US. In Germany they still use MSDOS and
OS/2 and Linux for example.
I completely agree with that.

It does not work for me - my performance is the same if I am promised anything or not and only can decrease if bosses pisses me off.

Bosses love that.
Ariane is NOT a russian rocket!
OS/2 is heavily used in ATM (bancomates) machines.
What happens with support for that stuff?
Switching to Linux?
Obvious solution: run "the beowulf cluster of those"
only in Winter...
Freedom, democracy and progress?
I prefer feeding, helping and stability...
That in Russia there is NO precedent law.
And judges shouldn't follow any precedents -
just a law word and reference books.
Isn't Microsoft not paying any taxes already?
The only thing I can say on this... Sigh...
