Trust? OEM!!! you cannot get rid of OEM software by Microsoft, even if you are not agree to its EULA, did you forget? People will just get their Palladium with new computers. And there will be no other options, same as now, when you almost cannot buy a new computer with anything but Win XP.
I just tried... For web browsing 40MB ram, P133 and 1.2 gb IDE drive (old Dell OptiPlex ) is WAY TOO slow.. Enormously slow. New browsers are not for such small amounts of memory and processing speed. StarOffice starts there for about 6 minutes!
It's actually a streamlined and purified PalmPilot without licensing stuff and having better modern OS. It should have at least the same areas of applicability as PalmPilot.
_Native_ _x86_ multithreading is useless and harmful. 1) It heavily decreases number of processes - a very tight resource in Linux 2) It makes programs cumbersome and hard to debug 3) In x86 architecture in Linux it was not a good idea to make threads implemenation via context switches for thread switches - in x86 it's a very costly operation. But it's only rant. Same as MIME this flawed technology is already used a lot and it's no way to turn it back. (why mime? mime is a stupid thing - a dirty hack created from not wanting to rewrite old 7-bit protocol from scratch).

up2date is MUCH WORSE than urpmi from mandrake. You have to give your system configuration to RedHat to use it, therefore giving up your privacy. In urpmi you just use mirrors and update is going without sending any information from your computer.
I wonder if Klein's bottle emerged waterproof. It will be a great vase for flowers if put to stand. I would like to have one, made of glass. Will look gorgeous, especially if made of colored glass.
Hmm.. I want to change this slogan to SCREW BAD MATH BOOKS. Unfortunately, it's about 75% of all math books. People who know math enough to write a book do not know a lot in pedagogic. So they wrote unreadable books. The only way to get good books is by peer review by other students; this is what university good for. So try to find book ratings. And do not forget math portals http://mathworld.com is a good point.
This patent covers only system with hardware-based DRmanagement module. There is already DRmanagement-capable version of Linux (surely not MS variant) (and security enhanced, though), www.rsbac.org, but all stuff there is software based. So no problem.

Imagine this: you have machine that show different outputs on the screen selected by one controlling byte. The byte is the program. Program can be copyrighted So: EULA {bla bla bla} Copyright (C) 2001 John Doe 0x2f Then I can file a lawsuit about usage of 0x2f in your programs/texts/etc...
This shows the absurdity of "copyright".
I have a strong feeling that idea of copyright is completely flawed and should be abandoned in favor to idea of public domain of all published and being published information.
The monopolies are the reason of the situation when you come to a store - you'll see a lot of disks! And you cannot hear WHAT is on that disks. If we have situation when *IAA are banned and declared illegal, music shops will be much user friendly and allow people to shop for music by listening to a part of CD they're going to buy. Really, a label on CD means nothing. Only CD contents means. And it's not shown in stores.
They should also be subject to civil suits for any loss of property that occurred. Ha! Are you a lawyer? Or do you really know honest lawyers that will hold such cases? One word: www.gtcinternet.com While their support is trained for only Win, they use ordinary PPP that should not be a problem for Linux, they have dialup numbers nationwide and cost (right now) 9.95/month
Moreover, I am wondering why M-soft has a right to say a word in court now, when it is lost ? IMHO remedy should be discussed without M-soft's presence and enforced under it.

Because it's not only client. It's mostly a standalone computer.
Ok. You got two or three used computers on E-Bay...
You cannot get thousands of these for that price.
486? You need
1) a power supply of 220 or 110 Volts... bah!
2) a display (add some $$$ or lose your eyes)...
3) this would be sooo slow...

Why not Tcl/Tk? Is there any TCL-ers here? What about TCL/TK for that beautiful thingie?

Such as urpmi in Mandrake or apt-get in Debian?
On my very IMHO, debian isn't easy to install... it's too cumbersome and not so user friendly as Mandrake.
Only my own IMHO.
