How do you account for the millions of people worldwide that are surfing the net. One cent is a lot of money elsewhere. Then there is the issue of how you would keep track of all these transactions. I am not sure how this article got approved. Get real.
I am not a corporate lacket or anything, but I don't understand how you can justify this. I am a business owner and I started a business to make money. Just because it is a big corporation and they want to make more money, it is wrong? What would you do differently if you were the owner of that corporation. Be truthful when you answer.
This isn't news when we talk about Microsoft. But Sendo executives or lawyers were crazy to have signed such a contract with someone like Microsoft. I guess they will be more careful if there is a next time.
We have to be more careful about who is using the information being worked on by scientists. Though it is critical that the study/data be released so that others can improve on that work, it is also critical that information not fall into the wrong hands. Imagine China/Pakistan/North Korea having satellite technology 20 yrs ago. It would have been a very different world. I think restrictions are necessary now-a-days.
The reason I install and use Linux (what ever the flavor) is to get away from Windows (look feel and all). As was this old slashdot article mentioned, Linux developers are not being creative enough.
When my dad was young, mechanical engineer was the hottest thing around. Now, it is computers. Everyone is jumping on the band wagon. I am sure that 20/30 yrs from now, there will be need for computer scientists and engineers, but a little different that what we do now. If I had to do it over again today, I would still choose the same profession. If you ask me 30 yrs later, when some young whippersnapper is trying to get my job because I am too old, then I problably would choose something else.
U expect the company to make you happy and though some people seem to have this delusion that disney is evil, I for one loved the Disney World Theme park. It was 5 glorious days. When u have have kids and raised them for a few yrs, u will find any means to get away for sometime (even if that means liking Barney).
I for one am really looking forward to seeing how the series ends. The first was a great movie. Usually sequels are not that great, but then again, this is not a sequel.
I feel like mandrake has earned my money. With Redhat on the path to becoming the next Microsoft, I feel like there need to be more distros available and mandrake staying in business is a big part of that.
The other issue is that they have to make the planes almost the same size because airports are not going to change structures just because it is a cool sonic plane that can fly faster.
I have never been to china, but I have lived in India and I can say that this is hardly news. The two towers or any other movie for that matter will be available if you know where to look. See, that's the key. I would say that even in the U.S, if you know where to look, you might find it. It is just not prevalent here because, in poor countries, people rely on every thing they can to earn money, especially if they can make foreign currency.
``and we're going to continue doing what we've been doing for customers.''
I guess I had Microsoft pegged wrong. They have been practising anti-competitive behaviour for me and the rest of its customers. So it's all ok now.
we may not be interested in this type of news, but I this as a great stepping stone for advanced and more powerful machinery. I always heard about computers, for instance not going past certain speed in Mhz because of various factors, one of them being the amount of heat it generates. So hats off to all the people that work hard to make life better for others.
It is currently not used as a weapon, but is a very big aid in wars for the U.S especially. The pentagon tracks weather patterns to see when it is ideal for fighters to fly as different types of troops need different kinds of weather. For instance, a covert op. happens when there is no moon, and there is cloud cover everywhere.
So, the question now remains how the first person(s) to report this got that info in the first place. If the company was trying to keep a tight lid on leaking prices to competition, then how did this information get out?
May you live in a town called "Perfect" (taken from Walgreens ad?) where everything functions just the way it should. But the rest of us don't live anywhere near "perfect", so this is not how the world works for us. There are people with money that want more and they will advertise for it. If you are stupid enough to fall for it, then need I say more? The rest of us who are not so naive move on and get popup/ad blockers to rid ourselves of such annoyances. BTW, if you were the CEO of Bonzi, I am curiuos as to what you would do?
How come there aren't any of these in the U.S? I would have thought that U.S being ahead in technology (or atleast money), they would have one of these running somewhere by now. Also, are there any health related problems when riding so fast and so close to electricity and magnetism for extended periods of time?

There is no way the 1L car will enter U.S mainstream. Have you seen the size of that car? It looks like a toy car. Seeing how most of us here are obsessed with big size and more power, even an almost normal looking car is hard to sell (i.e Civic hybrid, Toyota Prius...). I can't even imagine how this will compete in the U.S. Now Europe and other countries is a whole other matter.
First of all, I have to say this is a great idea. Just because you are deaf doesn't mean you can't use a cellphone. I have a cousin who is deaf. The last I talked to her, she was using sign lang. She was not reading lips (atleast I don't think). I personally don't know how to read lips. So, is this really going to take off?
Anyone who knows computers will not use AOL, but the people that truly matter are the 134 million customers that AOL has. So, that means that a select few hundred thousand (not actual stats) users will be left out. But I am not complaining, seeing that I never showed any interest in anything AOL has to offer anyway. So there.
Who gave this a score +5 Interesting? If you clicked on the link and actually read the story, you would know that www.wsj.com is not free, but online.wsj.com is free (atleast for this story).

Hey. Don't knock it till you have tried it. Ask Bill Gates. He will vouch for it. That's how he has made his $40 billion.
My Maxtor HD is the worst. I have heard airplanes that make less noise than that.

That must be what Will Smith calls Gigawatts

Thanks for making my day. That was the funniest story I have ever read.
