    Well, the libs would be in a different bundle. You would update the lib bundle, and the app would simply load the new lib - assuming that nothing critical has changed, there would be no error.

    it refers to the fact that when something caused the old MacOS to lose the current date and time, it would default to 1/1/1904. it's the date in the old PROM that is used as a base starting value. much like epoch in UNIX(TM)

    I use it, works great with my 12" PowerBook. osx 10.3 It has phone, video, etc. I use the bluetooth mainly to transfer photos or to sync address book data. you can even sync todo list and calender. Odd keypad though. Doesn't matter to me, I never use it(phone numbers in my address books)

    Linux uses ext2 and ext3 and reiserfs for native file systems. FAT32 is only if you wish to share files between Windows and Linux.

    I never let anyone have my ideas. I always disclose that I have the rights to all my work, and my employer has no rights at all, unless I implicitly assign them. I usually do, but hey, still, I'm not going to sell out. I have yet to run into any issues in the past, and this was for a government contractor.

    Yes, very few understand it. I myself had a Chem teacher who thought that it was a crutch. needless to say, I ended up walking out of his class one day, never to return. I did(until he retired) have a quoteunquote death letter on him - if he was in his classroom, and I was too, then trouble. but, I digress(as I tend to, having ADD). I love it when everything is going on at once. I do find it easier to concentrate!

    gnustep is getting better!. it is useable thank you very much. and, there is even an os based on it. http://simplygnustep.sourceforge.net/ there is a temporary lull as our main developer is out on a business trip, and we have to update the screen shots :-) , but it's getting there.

    well, I have an AIWA that can play mp3 cd's, and has an input jack. got it for something like 230ish bucks @ circut city(yea, i'm to lazy to spell check). it's awsome. just be careful on having it installed. my only issue was that my car didn't have the amp in the trunk or under the seat, so I had to get it installed by a pro(vs the kids @ circut city).

    um, not really. NeXT did post the GPL'ed stuff, and as for the BSD part, they couldn't. it was 4.3Tahoe code, so you needed an AT&T license to see it. but, they did have the code for distribution, you just needed to have $10,000. oh yea, and that's why sco includes apple in their statements. apple does have a sysv license. they got it from NeXT.

    and in related news, several us corporations declare open war on NZ, in an attempt to trump Xtra's 'all your work are belong to us' scheme. no really folks, how come no one in their legal department saw this as illegal(internet provider would be international, so only international trade laws would be used, thus pissing off US Comp.) oh well, I use covad.net and love them. Maybe they should expand?

    yes. 5.0 is still new. It is mainly for your running pleasure. If you need to use FBSD on an enterprise-critical system, then you would want 4.X 5 is a totally new means of doing things, so they don't expect to have all the bugs out until about 5.2

    Is this a slow day? well, I think that no matter what, Hollywood would face the issue of sysadmins, (having been one at a major engineiring(sp) firm, as well as for my own family network), who do not take intrutions lightly, legal or not. I'll bet that every time Hollywood tries to disrupt a filesharing service, the local sysadmin would just take down the offender, until the whole of hollywood just simply drops off the face of the internet, with no way to connect to the rest of the world. mmm dreams...

    because they already had it! it was not "hacking up" , they just removed all 4.3BSD Tahoe code from it and added IOKit to the mix. XNU is very stable, and it would not make any sense to go with any other kernel, since you lose a lot of the goodies that made it so powerful. Wishful mod to you: 1, trollbait
