I rent movies thru the xbox 360 system and I think it works really well. How can you provide this service without DRM ? Does a digital rental serivce have no place in the world?
Over 50% of med grads in the UK are female. This is also the case at Standford Medical School. I was under the impression that is was a trend that was present in all of the west.
How big is the office wouldn't the fact that he has recommended a internet pipe big enough that he watch streaming videos, a waste of money and resources?
What sites was the parent looking at? What if they are located in the US? The Pacific Ocean is a bigger mother fucker then the USA. I live in the Bay area I would think this area is densely populated and relatively close to lots of big internet companies that my internet should be top of the pile. Why isn't it?
What quality level is acceptable to you? What wait is acceptable? I like the Xbox live service although you need an Xbox 360 for it and I wouldn't buy one just for that. It does offer DVD quality downloads ready in less then 5 minutes for viewing. HD seems to be ready in several hours. (To long for me)
I personally see video differently then music. I don't re-watch stuff therefore I have no need for non drm or the need to burn to DVD. I can see one price for a rental (DRM required) and one for purchase no DRM.
Giving I think this service to rental burning to DVD is not required. So for it to succeed I think it needs to be accessible from the TV and compete on price with VOD from cable providers. Most people don't have computer hooked up to their home entertainment system which I think is the biggest problem with this type of service.
One Movie rental Service I do use sometimes is Xbox market place. It is easy hooked up to my TV and is pretty much on demand for 480p stuff. Does the PS3 offer something similar? I think these consumer devices in the living room with net access are the only place something like this can really work.
I agree 30 bucks equaling slashed is a bit over the top. However a percentage of 6.25 could be considered slashed if for example I would apply it to your salary or house value.
While it is a matter of opinion. I was attempting to illustrate a point that I could use a check list on features alone and the cheaper option would seem better. I picked the Bentley as most people think of them as high end.
As for speed I was guessing. I have always thought of a Bentley as high priced Rolls Royce with a turbo engine. But here is some info for two cars a Bentley sedan and the current Passat (I currently have the older Passat) that state that Bentley is faster in top speed and acceleration.
Problem is you are using a check list style comparison. While sometimes these are useful let clearly indicate a case when they are not.
Bentley Vs My Car (VW Passat)
Both have 4 doors. Tie Both Seat 5 People. Tie Both drive on the same roads and get the passengers from A to B. Tie Fuel Consumption. My car is better. Win my car Price. My car is about 1/10th the price. Win my car Speed, the Bentley is faster although given both a limited most of the time by the law and traffic conditions. Just win for the Bentley Space. Win Bentley Insurance cost. Win my car.
So is my car better then a Bentley. Nope although it is better value then a Bentley. It also doesn't go into all the little detail that make a Bentley better quality of finish etc. just like you fail to mention the experience of using the iPhone.
For user specific settings why not use the folder "Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\ApplicationName\" . There is a call in.net that gives you the path to the Application Data folder.
Yeah I would have one question before I zoom off to Costa Rica and these would both be dependant on my age and where I am in life.
Having a young family (My current position)
1> Would my children have the same opportunity in Costa Rica?
2> If I am to retire there what are the health services/ how much do they cost etc?
Other than that I am sure the life style would be good and the climate is nice.
I am currently trying to work out if I should return to New Zealand when my eldest is about 5-6 years of age.
No your insurance as a Man will be more expensive. Men die at a younger age hence Life Insurance more expensive. Motoring Insurance for men is more expensive as men take more risks. Not sure about healthcare costs which would be the only other Insurance that may have different rate for Males and Females.
No this will answer which control device is the most effective, I guess better at its job. But perhaps not more fun and gamming is meant to be fun. Take paint ball game I like playing when everyone has pump action weapons, as there is a short interval between shots when you can make a dash or get off a shot when pinned down. However it is obvious that a semi-automatic weapon is a much more effective. Therefore I like the worse weapon more making it better in IMHO.
This doesn't seem to make much sense once I have typed it out but blah
I am a 360 owner and while I am very happy with the system. There are some additional things they could done to make the system that little bit better.
1> Include WIFI I mean how much could that have really cost.
2> Allow plug-in codec's in the media center software. Yeah not very likely but would make the box oh so much better.
3> Allow user replaceable HDD, 20gig WTF were they thinking can you even buy those anymore.
I don't know how HDMI would have cost so it was probably not worth the money but it would have been nice. I do think that including the HD-DVD drive would have been a mistake.
Other than that the games seem pretty good and the graphics I have seen on the PS3 on display don't seem any better. So as an Xbox 360 owner I see little reason to even think about buying a PS3. Maybe Gran Turismo could change my mind, but even then 600 bucks for one game, and is a good blue ray player??
Do you know why Macs only have one button?
/Lame but old joke.
So you can use them wearing mittens, because you can't afford your heating bill!

Yeah except they know these people have a lower risk of health problems because they go to the gym.

Already Does kinda. Well My sister who lived in New Hamphire got free gym membership(paid for by her health insurance) if she went 4 times a month.

I still think the chevy volt seems like a better idea.
If I want to find the best people in the world, why would I limit myself to 5% of the worlds population?

Personally my favorite car at the moment is the Lotus Elise. But it lacks the practicality I need

Someone had to ask :)
Some cars can detect the octane level and adjust accordingly. I believe some BMWs do this.

I know here in CA you can't get them. Because none of them meet the smog requirements. In Europe they seem to more about the C02 output.

Hospitals in the UK have a postcode. I bet they don't have the name of every doctor that lives on site in this database you speak of.
I think you failed to notice the parent to your post was a piss take.
Wine Wine Wine. You Linux users that is all you ever do. Seriously does itunes actually work with Wine?
