a man and ET? ET phones home..;-) As I'm sure IE does:-( As for finding what misspelled domains are most common, you could do that with a little DNS cache snooping. I'm sure the typo squatters have been doing it for ages.
I followed up with a link showing that soil organic matter decomposition exceeds the CO2 output of ALL fossil fuels combined. In fact, it shows that CO2 released by soil organic matter decomposition exceeds emissions of CO2 from ALL OTHER SOURCES combined. You continue to maintain steadfastly that mankind is at fault for increasing atmospheric CO2 levels. Sure, I can see that, and I just painted a big red target on what you SHOULD focus on if that concerns you. You also maintain this atmospheric CO2 increase is solely responsible for the average global increase in temperatures. I am not convinced.
However, if you are, and it really bothers you so much, why don't you DO something about it? Why don't you go after the 800 lb. gorilla instead of the small fish that is fossil fuel? It's an easier target. A 10% decrease in CO2 emissions caused by soil organic matter decomposition would be the equivalent of ceasing use of ALL FOSSIL FUELS. Go for the jugular if you're so damned convinced. And yet... you don't. When confronted with the facts, you simply whine and rail on about oil. That gets really old. Especially considering that if you don't do something about soil erosion/oxidation soon, you aren't going to have any arable land left to grow the food you eat. Your waterworld scenario is pure fantasy. Failure of civilization due to poor farming practices is established historical fact. Learn from history or repeat it. Change the world over to no till farming and in the process you will: preserve our farmland for future generations, reduce CO2 to pre-industrial levels, and do it all without laying a finger on fossil fuels. What's not to like? Oh, thats right... it doesn't fit with the holy order of Global Warming's war on fossil fuels. Ignore all scientific fact in the jihad on oil. Besides, if you actually did reduce CO2, you might just have a little egg on your face should mean global temperatures continue to increase or fail to drop back...
Will you be surprised when you learn how their network is funded by polluters and petrofuel corporations?
Since, according to him, only the panicky global warming hand-wavers get funding, you've only proven exactly what he said in TFA: research that disputes global warming theory is dismissed out of hand as shill science. The proper response would be to dismantle his assertion that people who go against global warming theory have their funding cut, or better yet, look at and repeat his experiments showing the data he produced is wrong.
Now, your turn: Will you be surprised when you discover an order of magnitude more CO2 is contributed to the atmosphere by soil organic matter decomposition than the burning of ALL fossil fuels combined? Ask yourself how fossil fuels got there in the first place. Now, what happens when you don't put your CO2 away after you play with it? Don't blame cars, blame farmers. But you can't really blame farmers, when the politicians are spending $1.7 billion a year on global warming research and jack squat on no till farming. So... ultimately, it's the fault of politicians who allocate funds to global warming research instead of no till farming equipment and research. And of course that's followed by the only logical conclusion: Those who elected them are at fault. That appears to include you. Therefore, increased level of CO2 in the atmosphere is your fault.:-) Oh, but wait!! That doesn't fit with your global warming theory, therefore it's simply rubbish! Obviously the work of some oil industry shill over at montana.edu. Looks at teh computar modelz!!1
Science is supposed to be falsifiable. Don't agree with the conclusions of his work? Repeat it and prove him wrong. Read any debate on Intelligent Design on Slashdot and the detractors of ID immediately point out that ID is junk science because it is not falsifiable. Global warming is as much junk science as ID. Only it's worse; Global warming is generally accepted junk science. Whenever someone points out that there are serious problems with global warming theory, that information is ignored, shouted down, and disputed with the holy order of indisputable computer models. The response of anyone interested in the truth is to look at the data, repeat the experiments, and either verify it or prove it to be inaccurate. Global warmers are obviously NOT interested in the truth. They're too busy getting fat off that $1.7 billion in government funds. More panic equals more money. So who did you say was shilling for easy money again?
In February 1995, an Apple petition to open up more spectrum was approved. The public now has 10 Mhz for license-free use. Apple does not own it. Everyone must use equipment designed for the band. Some of the bands are what the FCC privately calls "garbage bands"; the official term is ISM band, for industrial, scientific, and medical applications. These can cause interference to wireless radios, especially in an office environment. A microwave oven operates in the 2.4 GHz band, so radio equipment to handle this interference generally costs more than radio technology for use in a clear band.
Uh huh... right Dell. Fuck you. Apple was inventing Wi-Fi two years before the standards body had a v1.0. Apple laid the groundwork for 802.11. Apple was the first to ship actual working 802.11 on a laptop. Apple fucking invented 802.11. Period. End of story. All Dell ever did was claim they 'innovated' wireless networking since they released their first laptop over a year after it shipped in iBooks.
Yeah? Well just wait for the Trapper Keeper 2000 edition!
Bill:
[reaches over Cartman's shoulder] May I hold your Trapper Keeper?
Cartman:
Uh, n-no, I'm afraid not, Bill Cosby, because it is coded to the prints on my fingers. [wiggles them outstretched] If anybody but me tries to hold it, big metal spikes come out and pierce through their hands.
Kyle:
Oh, you are so full of crap, Cartman! Metal spikes will not come out!
Cartman:
Oh really? [hands the folder over to Kyle] Then, why don't you hold it? [Kyle looks at it in Cartman's outstretched hand.] Well, go on, Kyle. If it doesn't have metal spikes, then hold it. [inches closer and whispers] Hold it.
just consider food for a moment. the average north american diet requires 3 acres of areable land per person per year. for the entire population of the united states that works out to just less a billion acres.
I'm calling bullshit here... Even this hand waver says 1.2 acres... Personally, I think that's quite unrealistic. I've been poor, lived rural, and survived with a family of four on what a 20' x 60' (0.028 acre) vegetable garden yielded for 6 months. I'm guessing the extra acreage is to account for all those burgers you guys are eating.
this song is awesome and I'm really looking forward to their album.
Unfortunately, according to the RIAA RADAR, "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkely is published by WEA records (German Warner Bros.) making it an RIAA 'property.' It doesn't matter to me how talented they might be, I will make no purchases as long as they associate themselves with the RIAA.
This is not accurate. Apple has a potential monopoly because they have secured almost 90% of the market and refuse to license their DRM.
90% of what market? Music? MP3 players? DRM? Got any links to back that up?
Can't be the music market, because the last time I checked, online music accounts for roughly 6% of all music sales. So what...? I can now sue Netflix now because they control the vast majority of online movie rental.. mailing...uh video... something?
DRM? Again, Apple doesn't ship 90% of systems shipping with DRM. Windows DRM and DVD-CSS certainly exceed Apple's insignificant share of the market there...
MP3 players? Ok, you got me there. Apple sells so many iPods, part suppliers can't keep up with demand forcing smaller players to pay higher prices for what little is left. Bad Apple, bad! Stop selling things people want!
People sharing original files have purchased a copy, but there's a major difference between that and lending a copy to someone. With a library book, only one person can use it at a time. With file sharing, many people can use something at once.
Not true. For example, let's say I have a term paper due. If I walk into a library and copy a study from a scientific journal at the copier, how is that study now unavailable to anyone else? I've made a copy and left the original. The whole classroom can make use of that library's one copy for their term papers just as I have.
I think they assume nobody is dumb enough to copy an entire book. Even if at that library they don't care enough to check, that doesn't mean they support or allow it;
So it isn't the library's fault people are violating copyright law? They just provide the copiers and the books. It's the end user who is ultimately responsible/at fault... Grokster made that case in front of the Supreme Court. They lost. The decision was unanimous: 9/0.
they've just never had a book copying problem.
So it's only a problem if people copy whole books? Somehow I don't think the RIAA is going to agree with you... "Oh, it's ok if you only download the songs you like from an album, just as long as you aren't downloading the entire album."
The library has already paid for the books, and they're only lending out copies they own.
And no one sharing files online ever purchased an original copy? How'd the files get there in the first place I wonder...? Evolution can't explain that, it must be Creationism!;-)
Your analogy would be correct if the "shady little wench" let people use a copy machine to make copies of entire books.
Really? Then my analogy is correct, because the last time I went to the library they had several copiers. Just ask the shady wench, she'll point you in the right direction and facilitate your copyright infringement even further! As long as you aren't holding up a line, no one seems to mind if you xerox to your heart's content. They'll even let you take things home, where you can use your own computer/scanner setup at your leisure!
I'm confused though, how does piracy not harm anyone?
Ask your public librarian. She's that shady little wench down on the street corner handing out free copies of copyrighted works. Books, movies, music... she's ur hook up!
Ha ha, his constitutional rights will be violated! That's hilarious!1! Just like at Abu Ghraib, except he's a citizen! LOLZ, that is teh funny!!
You seem to have no problem with the violation of the eighth amendment, maybe we should violate his seventh and just skip the whole trial too, shall we?
Of course this could also have the effect of completely killing the Mac game market*. Even games that are currently cross-platform might have been released Windows only if there was a simple way to dual boot to XP.
Conversely, if the ability to have Windows and Mac OS X on one machine sells more Macs, the increased marketshare would increase the number of developers willing to target the Mac natively.
What are you talking about? Have you ever sat near a person tick tick ticking away on a laptop while in a lecture? Or are you the personing doing that really annoying ticking?!
What are you talking about? Have you ever sat near a person scratch scratch scratching away with pen and paper during a lecture? Or are you the person doing that really annoying scratching?! You should be listening quietly, assimilating that information, and committing it to your permanent memory. Note takers are just writing without learning a thing, and they're annoying twats to boot! I too applaud her decision to ban note taking in class.
I don't understand why this summary has to bring the government into this or speculate that they might do something. There's no evidence of impending censorship, no political issues at work here.
Where were you for the last few months? Chris Wilson spent them in jail. Seems porn is bad... especially if you have photos from the front lines in Afghanistan and Iraq mixed in there with it.
Funny, didn't these same companies loose millions of customer records recently? Oh, but that's just tin foil hat talk. If Visa says so, it must be the merchant. Given that Visa doesn't get a cut of the transaction unless you use your card as credit, there couldn't possibly be any reason for Visa to deter you from using your check card as a debit card...

China and Japan have stopped buying US debt.

Finding RIAA-free music that I like is easy and free. I even *gasp* buy RIAA-free music too! 8-0
Now, go away or I shall taunt you a second time!

OTOH, should you trust companies that worked with Sony to make a threat to corporate networks invisible?
Not true. For example, let's say I have a term paper due. If I walk into a library and copy a study from a scientific journal at the copier, how is that study now unavailable to anyone else?
