CPSC announce a voluntary recall on all type of helicopters as they may crash and cause injuries if you continue to fly after having received a low fuel alert.
Yes, maybe they could do an auto-rotation, I know...
It is: the fact that we're doomed to hearing the same 'it belongs to SCO' joke attached to every single Linux-related story from for the rest of eternity.
Now, that is what I call a technological advance! You can execute code in the kernel and THEN, afterward, plug in the cpu. Does somebody knows how they do this?!?
I think the quote: "Any technology
indistinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced." applies well in this case
F*ck, give me a break man! Its Friday for gods sake!
It took me 15 minutes to undestand that what you meant was simply: They should'nt theoretically f*ck with each other, but anyhow they have fun doing it!
Pfffff, 2h 15 minutes til this one is over, wheewww...
I was about to mod you down, but hey, I'm trying to be cool this morning:-)
Heat pipre do not work with a pump and a reservoir, this is basic Water cooling you are referencing.
Eat pipe work by having a copper tube with its inner surface having a thin membrane of stuff wich I can't remeber the word for (I'm not an english speaker...). Well when one end of the tube is heated, the liquid passes thru the membrane and gets to its gazeous form, gathering energy with it. It then moves to the cooler section of the tube where it will be passing thru the membrane again, condensing and thus releasing the stored energy. The membrane is always imbibated (not sure for this word) in the liquid and the actual "eat displacement" is done thru the center by the gazeous form of this same liquid.
Because we are in a movie. And in movie, when they kill the bad guy, the bad guy always get back on it's feet for a last fight. You know, with the blood all over it, the gun holes and everything...
Maybe the "world wide web" as we know it is dying,
but I doubt that the Internet is. I myself finds popups, spam and all those shits pretty annoying also but would it not be possible to just build up a new "community"? Using newer protocols, newer tools etc etc?
Yes, their would be far less people at the begining, but it would be really cool.
It would be like a new beginning, like the BBS era, but better:-)
And even simpler then that, just create better indexes on the web.
Not only search engines, but real directory where people could maybe vote for the listed websites, I don't know.
Anyway, I was just guessing some possible "solutions" instead of just whining...
I myself am a smoker and I take one cigarette break in the morning and one in the afternoon.
I also have 2 coworkers who does not smoke but they come out also and breath some air.
No need to fake it. You NEED a break some time, smoker or not:-)
If I remember correctly, those are all business who sell's Linux based operating system. Direct competitors to Microsoft I would think...

And what about you and me?
We act based on external stimuli and based on what we have learned as far as I know.
Unfortunately, we will never fully understand how we are "made" and how we "work".
And without being able to fully introspect ourselves, we will never be able to build a computer which works exactly like a human.
How could you possibly create something to be a replica of something you don't understand?
Cognitive science has made immense progress, but it is still all models and theory.
And as human, "logic" animals, we will always be modeling what we are learning to fit inside our own "understanding". We are locked in our own box...
And if it is all "maths" or "logic", a computer can do it to. I am pretty sure that not so far in time, we will see robots who act very much like a human being.
Will it be considered a real human being because of it? Will it really be an "intelligent" machine?
I don't know, that's not a technological debate, it is a philosophical one. How do you define real AI anyway?
Does it have to be "alive"? If I ever create a unicellular bacteria, and that it is alive, is this considered "AI"?
In this case, it would be well alive and totally artificial, but not very smart by any measures!
On the other hand, if I create a robot which looks like a human, has flesh, eat food, cries, smiles, makes mistake, learns, have fun etc etc.
Will this be true "AI"? It wont be alive after all, it will only be made of steel, a cpu, platics, millions of "if statements".
But to anyone looking at both, I'm sure this one would look a lot more "intelligent" then the bacteria.
If the robot body in itself is realistic enough, maybe you could even fall in love with it, could you?
And what if it falls in love with you also? That everything is going fine for a couple of years
before you realize it is in fact a "robot"? Would you turn around because it is not real "intelligence" or because it is not a biological body?
In that case, could we conclude that we are ourself programmed to "accept" that something is inteligent based on criteria that have nothing to do with inteligence per see?
What is inteligence anyway? How do we measure it?
I am not flaming you at all by the way, I just love those debates;-)
Those small choper are not very dangerous.
While they can hurt you a bit, it won't be that bad at all. You wont loose a fingure...
The.30 or.60 beast are something else tough as those have head speed in the 1500-2000 rpm, and the blades can be quite long to.
Those can kill! But a piccolo or an hornet would probably not even cut thru the skin...
This really ain't news but anyway

Those were hand made, but the guy helped IKarus to design the Eco Piccolo which is really small and comes in a kit form.
Then, there is also the MS Composite Hornet, which I personally prefer. Those 2 are a lot of fun to fly, but you have to be dedicated to them, because they need a lot of tweeking to get every bit of power from the cells, extra care must also be taken because of their small form. And they are also everything but cheap...
Anyway, a very geeky hobby that's for sure...
Well, retreiving the ebergy is only done by letting the liquid expend back to "room" temperature?
How is this hard?
And I would tend to think that there isn't much difference safety wise between storing liquid-nitrogen or Hydrogen?
