I lived in New Paltz for a year (last year) and I still do enjoy the town itself (nice bars/ breweries) and it's an excelent town if you're into hiking / biking etc. I haven't heard anything about Mohonk unless you're refering to this.
Either way, I like the town overall for a visit, but I can't agree more that it's a bit too tree-huggy at times.
Back on topic, I saw the gas station over the weekend that this happened at. They had a couple of the pumps taped off, and looked like they had service folks working to replace whatever was spent by the fire supression system, so the guy who lit up seems to have taken the bulk of the damage.
I live one town over from New Paltz. My first reaction to hearing the local news story about this was "I thought this cell phone thing was proven to be an urban myth". I'm still skeptical about it being the true cause.
On the other hand, we had a house explode about a month ago in Highland NY due to a gas leak , so it just might be a local thing.
I also use the 7135, and I'd second your assesment of it. Verizon is my carrier and I'm quite happy with my coverage. The software is noticably slower than some of the regular Palm devices I've tried, but the convenience outweighs that. The phone/palm integration are pretty well thought out, and it's great to be able to send and recieve POP/IMAP mail from my phone if I need to send something out in a hurry.
I don't think you're off-topic at all. While I don't know of specific state or federal legislation, I do know that some businesses are restricting them from being allowed in the building due to security. For that matter, my gym prohibits you from bringing in a camera phone because they don't want to deal with the potential privacy problems in the locker rooms.
They don't necessarily have to have toner in their fax machine in order to send these faxes to you. For that matter, they could (most likely) be sending the faxes through software.
The black paper trick is nice and all, but probably will just end up making your phone line busy.
Sure they'll get damaged if you toss them in the microwave, but if you store them in a hermetically sealed container filled with an inert gas like they are intended to be kept, then they'll last indefinitly. =)
Looking at the page source, the images are in fact from the sites they claim are 419ers. Now, figuring out if those sites really are 419ers is the tough part.
Err, I'm quite aware of the date. The article was also discussing the test-run whish *has* happened already, and could easily have yielded real photos.
Since they decided to use an artists rendition, the question still remains, who was the blind, armless, computer-illiterate who put that pic together?
It does look very fake. Even stranger is the fact that the thumbnail on the left shows the same picture with a red/white/blue parachute as described in the article. The large picture shows yellow/green/red.
Both Sony and Nintendo bank on console exclusives, so there's nothing surprising or even underhanded about MS doing the same. I'm not typically a fan of MS products, but I can't fault them for this move.
It's been done. All satelite efforts have been inconclusive. I saw a special on TV that showed pictures from space that did show what looked like the ribs of a large ship there, but then pictures taken of the same spot at a different time of day / year looked just like rock.
It's like satelite pictures of Mars. From one time of day / angle it looks like there is a carved channel. From another day / angle the same thing looks like just a ridge. Hard to say until we get a closer look.
Now obviously we can all agree (ok, ok most of us can agree) that there aren't any channels carved in Mars, but the possibility of there being *something* man-made on Mt. Ararat is at least possible.
Which brings to mind an excelent idea (to me). I think we should build one of these and add on a V6 engine to wind the motor for us. Think of the gas savings!!! =)
That wasn't spam, that was a concerned friend telling you to lay off the Extra Value Meals. =)
It's turtles all the way down....

English might not be his native language either. Save the grammar blitzkrieg for another time.
While it is great that this may one day cure cancer in people, I think it's fantastic that in the mean time we can keep our test-tubes healthy.
Ok, it's time to start playing the lotto.
The folks who are promoting this energy source are just plain full of shit. =)

The submitter is trying out this new thing called "being nice". It's not for everybody, but some of us enjoy helping our friends.

Myself, I back mine up to a spare hard drive and never have to touch iTunes to do so.
Might be feasible depending on the diameter of the straw. *Might*
Dude, re-read the article. He mentions nothing about the resolution let alone any searching he had done.

I guess the idea is that performing a DDoS regardless of the target is illegal, but hot-linking images is just bad netiquette.

Very very odd.

Man, does this guy know how to party or what?! =)
