    The blair witch came from Burkittsville Maryland, about 10mi from where I live.. and as for woods there's not much there but a small park and the appliachian(sp) trail. all they really filmed from there was the cemetary AFAIK.

    just a little high town with some farms, I went there and didn't see any witch... so dissapointed

    1. start transmitting

    2. wait 2 seconds to see it beames back over T.V.

    3. wait till someone turns off the transponder

    4. turn off transmitter and throw it into a river

    Sounds Like a great idea to me! streaming a playlist could get murky if it was tied in with P2P networks even if not a direct relation.. I would help u code it but the last code I wrote was for the apple ][ in school (uh-oh is my age showing?) but if u need hardware I can do that...

    yes.. a 2.4? Ghz signal at 1000W can cook an egg in 30 seconds.. a 5W or so cell signal at 1.2 gig can cook a brain in............

    Someone did this and transmitted video/audio through the paper cup and string method before.. granted it was only like 2 feet, but hey he did it :)

    There is already a system for spotting/watching traffic jams that I would consider more reliable than trying to guess if X ammount of phones are still at X intersections or is it a new batch of X phones there? Traffic cameras! you can watch it in realtime or see stills on the web in quite a few major cities I always check in on them before I leave work (washington D.C. area) and know if my way home is blocked or moving slowly... but I suppose if we didn't track everyone by their cell phone we would be stiffling innovation. cell phone signals are private last I remember.

    That this is what M$ was hoping for..

    easy hacks and ability to do this will boost sales it's basically a cheap PC. it won't be to long before we start seeing xbox games on home pc's also.. as much as they seem to hate piracy they set themselves up for this one.

    Very strong network with DirecTV behing them with marketing also. I worked on some of their land based repeaters and it's soild performance all around.

    I would hope they would be able to get by on at least 2 :) not a place you want a critical system to go down when a replacement is about half a year away!

    They seem to be having quite a few "critical" problems (control computers going offline and onto backup) That in the news are reported as being so bad but no real big deal.. I would like to see what the designers of ISS modules and the astronauts/cosmonauts have to say off the record about these problems.

    On the radio lastnight as I was driving home.and almost crashed...

    but anyways I guess this just shows that you have to choose a source carefully.. I mean who really needs a new capital with a retracting dome and stadium seating?
