my problem is they're ugly as hell. (The exception being that $100,000 electric one from California that might not really exist.) If I could get a hybrid that looked half as good as my corvette, I'd buy it.
Windows CE runs on MIPS. There are plenty of WinCE programs compiled for MIPS. And so does linux, X, KDE, GNOME, etc. Are you implying that KDE/GNOME/X/GNU/Linux sucks?
Back in the day, Sun had a browser written entirely in java. I think Netscape started rewriting their browser entirely in java and decided it was a bad idea.
please post something about the iPhone, or Chrome, or moose hunting.

Too bad you didn't tell Google that before they wasted their time.
Isn't this the same advice you gave Apple when they announced Safari? And Mozilla when they announced FireFox? And Microsoft when they announced Internet Explorer? And Netscape when they announced Navigator?
Maybe fast-tracking is the problem. Normally, a standard exists because something has been in use for a while and gained acceptance (a de facto standard) or because relevant parties sit down and agree to it. If the standard was created elsewhere (eg, C++), it makes sense for ISO to defer to them. But to just approve OOXML (and OpenOffice XML) is the wrong approach. They should have sat down and created a new ISO Document XML format with input from MS, Open Office, Apple, IBM, or any other relevant parties.
Why not? 1. Wikipedia's search facilities suck bigtime. 2. I tried using the wikia search a fwe months ago and it was shit. 3. Jimbo Wales does a lot of scumbag things on wikipedia.
Those things that make your life easier in retirement are those things that make your life easier in general. And for the most part, they were developed by the private sector.
If more government is the answer, try a Cuban retirement.

20 years ago, we stuck a card into our atari/nintendo/sega to play a game.
IE has a setting which controls if a new window is a new process or not.
That doesn't do anything for buffer overflows. Or invalid memory access. Or null pointer dereferences. Or programmer brainfarts.

They have to steal technology from somewhere.
picasas?
how do you turn the awesome bar off? What I hate most about opera, chrome, (and IE) is that it tries to do a search for everything in the address bar.
Chrome is closer to the win32 metal than safari, but it still seems to do a lot of stuff their own way.
That's basically the same UA string as Safari. IE pretends to be Mozilla, Safari pretends to be Gecko and KHTML, Chrome pretends to be Safari.

Since Chrome is based on WebKit with their own high performance javascript engine, I'd guess 0 lines of code.
Do you prefer the GPL version 2 or version 3?
Early Linux was more Minix than GNU. The existance of Minix and *BSD, both of which are primarily non-GNU should tell you something.
Sounds like an improvement over the FREE software song.

Only if the Red Cross is a good guy.
The GPL covers distribution, not usage.

using taxes caps government spending by providing a maximum dollar amount, and makes the citizens aware of what it truly costs.
You must not live in the U.S.
slashdot removed html entity support to prevent bidi text hacks. It's still incredibly lame, though.
And more time than Hans Reiser (15 to life means he'll be out in 10).
