That something was TeX. Have you ever tried using it? We're lucky he got part A out. The entire chapter (not just part A) would have been published 30 years ago if he hadn't been dicking around with the font, margins, gutters, line breaks, etc.
No shit. Every complaint about OS X (even the invalid ones, considering emacs is included) also apply to Windows. Different kernel, case-insensitive, doesn't use his preferred linux package system, not linux, etc. The only place lenovo/windows wins is price and if his employer was paying for it, who cares.
I would expect MySQL.com to be hacked with an SQL injection bug. They didn't support parameterized queries until version 5 or so and most mysql examples floating around on the 'net involve building your own query string from unchecked user parameters.
Not 8%, perhaps, but the official inflation numbers are garbage. Oil? Not included -- too volatile. Food prices? Not included -- too volatile. The iPad (which less that 5% of Americans own)? They just dropped the price on last year's model by $100, so that's factored in as deflation.
Lehman brothers failed. Others failed and were bought up (Bear Stearns, Countrywide, Merrill Lynch) with help from the federal reserve/treasury. And there were other subsidized failure (AIG, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac).
But even if companies aren't allowed to outright fail, I've only heard of one person in jail, and his case seems like prosecutorial misconduct. There was plenty of fraud, from the liar loans to rating agencies giving trash AAA status.
Make a list of every linux distro you can think of. Red Hat, Debian, Ubuntu, Yellow Dog, Gentoo, Yasddril (or however it's spelled), Mandriva, Opensuse, etc. Then compare it to the 8 FSF-approved distros. Is there any overlap at all? How many of those 8 approved have you heard of? How many of those 8 have you used? Please explain why any of those 8 matter.
Android "winning" isn't good for Motorola. They're just another manufacturer along with HTC, LG, Samsung, and the torrent of no-name cheap chinese phones that will soon flood the market. Apple is the only one with any kind of respectable profit margins.
Why should anyone buy chinese-built motorola android phone instead of a chinese built HTC android phone or a chinese built LG android phone or a chinese built no-name android phone?
Within a year or two, the middleman (motorola, HTC, LG) will be cut out.
Has anybody bought one yet? More expensive than an iPad, no optimized apps, flash is still vaporware, and you'll need to send it back if the LTE upgrade ever happens.
yeah, about 8 years ago.
Great! Where's the Honeycomb source code?
Obvious to you, obvious to me, apparently not obvious to google.

30 years since his last book and all he can manage is two chapters.
it only took, what? 1 month? to abandon Kin.
How much profit does Google make per Android phone sold?
Homer: I don't see Barney "Let's crash the space shuttle into the whitehouse and kill the President" Gumble...

the galaxy tab uses 2.3, not honeycomb, so the source code is available.

It's too expensive to build them ourselves. Much cheaper to have them built in China.

I think you proceeded to root it.

Actually, the two most popular Unix variants -- OS X 10.5 and 10.6 -- are officially Unix.

STLPort doesn't (and most likely won't) support C++0x
You know what else sounds a lot like liberty? Liberty.
One of 8 approved GNU/Linux distributions. None of which matter in the real world.
Apparently, in order to be an approved FREE software OS, you need to prevent users from using non-free software. FREE from choice. The ultimate FREEdom.

Didn't they make the Objective-J JavaScript framework Cappuccino that was inspired by Apple's Cocoa framework?
Yes on both counts. I thought that meant they would never be heard from again. This could be it.
