this seems kinda funny. First 'hacker' makes case mods so you can see al of his frilly internals. then he puts on a system so you cannot touch or have access to them. this is strangely reminiscent of the lingerie / chastity belt scenerio, see... no touch. see... no touch.
since these are technicle not Phillips (red-book) compliant CDs, retailers technicly should not be able to sell them in the CD section. it is false advertising. so maybe the suit should fall on Best Buy or Wall Mart, to force them to separate the two disks (CDs and Copy Protected Optical Audio Discs) on the sales floor.
the CD manufacturers are afrade that people will not but the CDs if they know they are fscked with. the only way this works without a large scale backlash is if people dont know whats going on untill its too late(or they cant eject their coaster) when was the last time you checked your CDs for their logo? this method capitolizes on the ingnorance and apathy of the average Us consumer.

what exactly is this going to do for Sherlock? Or maybe this is a better question, what could this possibly do for Sherlock? and would your average Mac user notice a diference?
56k molasis speed discourages net use which decreases potential infection times. its all common sense, on my 56k i dont have the bandwidth to be dl'ing "MY NUDE WIFE.JPG.exe"
whos going to pay for a book on the net if its not pr0n?
btw, book people are generally not that computer literate. i mean sure they can use email and sht but they generally dont spend the time to read of of a website when they can go and buy a book to cozy up to. especially since the book they can put on their shelf and display when their finnished. but this is a whole other can of worms.
my G4 400 AGP has lasted me 2years and cost me just 80$ in that time. i forsee it lasting another two, although i will buy it a little vidcard present for jaguar soon.
Please consider the fact that Blizzard is suing people who write software to interoperate with theirs when deciding whether you want to purchase this game
because nono of us buy games to actually play them, right?
it needs roads, i dont want a shitload of people walking through my yard trying to get to Bob whos three cell over. where are the roads/adresses/freeways.
but a cool start, i hope this evolves into something cool
if piracy really hurts the recording industry, why did i just read an article in last weekend's New York Times Mag. talking about a financial advisor for newly signed bands. his job is to help newly signed bands not spend their milions away.
or why do i keep seeing all those 'Benzes on dubs' on cribs. if the industry is hurting they sure are not showing it. my stealing is going towards the benefit of curbing the outrageous spending habbits of the recording industry.
this is fucking rediculous! in my mind, if a band is making an outrageous ammount of money like this, i will steal all of their music with no reget. its the sellout tax! as soon as you sell out its free game for me.
who uses windows in the PRO compositing field anyways? i always thought that your only choices were a mac, an overpriced *nix box(eg. sgi) or a linux box, which have only recently gained widespread approval for things other than servers. is it really that big of a deal that windows users will no longer get these programs?
sorry i couldnt help my self. but seriously i cannot believe that there is no strong windows based competiton. i mean in terms of OS-software-hardware combo, like the Mac OS(X)-iTunes-iPod combo. its not like Micro$0ft cannot afford it or develop it. and if they hire a good designer it might just work.
wouldnt this system be susceptable to distortion through vibration? if the line is bumped it would cause a shift in the fluid, if only a minute one, possiply distroying the signal. it would be interesting to se what measures bell labs has taken to account for this if amy at all.

i bought a computer with a virus on it once, oh what was it called? oh yeah, windows!
as i recall, its the other way around, windows looks like a mac. remember who the inovaters are, and its not the smurf factory that made xp!

this is good because now it will be easier to create cross platform games. which means more games for linux/mac. that is assuming i read it correctly.

i thought ZDNet was afiliated with Micro$oft. is this just another stunt to keep the Xbox in the news?
but it could still be disturbed, and thats the problem. on the ocean floor anything could happen, seismic activity, volcano, depth charge? who knows.
