  1. Why use REAL? on Real Launches New Player, Music Store · · Score: 0, Flamebait
Anything in a Real format is crap if its not distributed in alternative formats as well. Its a great way to scare off interested people, distributing content in Real.

Oh, and if you Real people ARE reading this, I hope you go belly up like you deserve to, crappy companies deserve crappy endings.

Easy network rendering is on the way if the developers take advantage of this. of course theyll charge you extra too, but how cool will it be when you can render out a scene on your entire campus's computers at 4am when noone else is working. Esp if its transparent to the other computers.

or i could be wrong, heres hoping im not!

So that i can get my Maya/Rhino/StudioTools renderings done ASAP. If i can shave but an hour off of a 35hr rendering, its a blessing.

There will never, NEVER be enough cpu horsepower for raytracing. I will always want (todays highend)^2 power in my boxes. And strangely enough, i dont see my render times coming down at all. (Mmmmmmm... soft shadow precision. Mmmmmm... higher poly radiosity meshes. Mmmmmm... photons. Etc. etc).

You present some interesting points that i am having difficulties disagreeing with. But i also think that you would agree that in the event of an inevitable confrontation, a fist fight would be potentially less deadly than a onesided gun fight. That was the point i was trying to make.

  8. Re:Definately NOT a Surprise on Real Gun Pulled At Counter-Strike Tournament · · Score: 1
    NO, this is entirely different.

In a fist fight (fought fairly) there is only a slight chance that the situation will end in death. Also, fist fights are easier to control than a gun. If a gun is placed against a persons head, it is fairly certain that the situation will result in death.

There is a considerable difference in the moral fabric of a person that would advocate the certain death of another person, and a kid egging on a fistfight.

That said i hope that the coward with the gun gets to feel the full extent of the law, as well as his team mates.

I have a gf4 4200 vivo that i just love, gaming performance is great, dual monitiors (with a DVI/VGA convertor), nice drivers. But i will honestly not buy another one, nor reccomend it. The included softwaer BLOWS. ATI has their 1st party developed media center software that is wonderful. Nvidia gives you a hodge podge of 3rd party crap that didnt include half the registration numbers, so now im illegaly running software that i paid for! I wish that i could get the ATI software to be compatabe with it, or there was a free alternative that was comparable. Ive found this shareware "tv viewer" software that handles input to fullscreen great, except requires that i pay to stop flashing messages at me. I also use VirtulaDub for all of my capturing. Tvout is handled in the driver and works fine.

does anyone else here have one of these cards? how do you use it?
