Next thing you know, Microsoft will be patenting the use of nine inch nails for fixing people to two wood beams set at right angles and demanding money from Trent Reznor.
I just wish it was more consistent across the system. Sometimes you can right-click on an executable or shortcut and you get the runas context menu item, then sometimes you don't! In those cases you have to execute it from them command line.
If a right-click doesn't display "Run As...", try shift-right-click. This works for some Start Menu and Desktop shortcuts. Also, have a look at SANUR, which lets you script RunAs by piping the password in automatically.
This brings to mind one of the finest science fiction stories I have ever read: "Mimsy Were the Borogoves", by Lewis Padgett. Some kind soul has placed the full text online, though the "next" links are broken.
When the annual review comes up the people that take pride or work hard will move ahead.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!... oh, you were being serious.
Have you seen the movie "Office Space"? The problem is that many people don't realize it's a documentary.

And I've seen plenty of people move up the ladder without good reviews to back them. Reviews, and pandering to them, are possibly the most pointless waste of time ever invented by humanity.
This is why I always rate myself as "Godlike" on self-evaluations. It's not like they're actually read, anyway.
Now that has been expanded to all jobs except management, so the "good life" isn't even available to those with four-year University educations any more.
Perhaps that's the real problem. I've worked for "managers" who could barely tie their loafers without a Project Plan and a Timeline and Measurable Goals.
Opera 7.53/3850 on XP Pro SP1 crashed when it tried to load that file. I note that Opera 7.54 is now available, but the changelog doesn't mention PNG fixes.
And is it me or have the people who used to do credit card calls all switched over to doing "non-profit" debt consolidation services. Heck, for all I know, the actual debt consolidation service is really non-profit, but I suspect the telemarketers are still making a bundle making calls for them.
Also, just because the slimeball on the phone says they're calling from a "non-profit" doesn't make it true. I'm reminded of the summer camp I went to when I was about eight (stay with me). One day, we piled into a bus and drove to Malibu Creek State Park. At the time, parking for a bus was probably $10--it seems to have gone up since then--but when the Ranger came to collect the fee, the driver/counselor told him "we're a non-profit organization". Which they were absolutely not. In fact, I later learned (through snooping and listening where I wasn't supposed to) that the camp staff were explicitly instructed to claim non-profit status whenever possible, to avoid things like parking fees. All of which is off-topic, of course, but does make the point that claiming to be a non-profit and actually being one can be two very different things.
This is a good explanation of something that I misused for years. Now I just use a mnemonic: i.e. means 'that is', and e.g. means 'for example'. On the same topic, n.b. means 'take note'.
The contents of the system tray are lost when that happens, which is a real drag when you have utilities which you cannot access any way other than through the tray.
Enable "Launch folder windows in a separate process" under Tools - Folder Options - View. This will, as the option suggests, keep the "master" explorer.exe (the one that among other things displays the desktop and system tray) separate from any new folder windows. If a folder view crashes (happens to me when a network resource suddenly becomes unavailable) it will not affect the parent desktop. The resource cost is minimal.

7.54 crashes as well.
