A reviewer called Toriko wrote an interesting review of The Culture of E3 a few months back. Was an interesting read in that she didn't mention many games and instead concentrated on the event itself.

IANAM (i am not a millionaire) far far far FAR from it in fact
I on the other hand, am a millionaire, I invested in AOL about three years ago, no doubt by now my shares have increased tenfold, just like they told me they would.
Would you like to buy a cd only to find out that it will only work on X cdplayer? or a device that's only able to run if you're with Z electricity company?
Also that obsessive kid that hangs around Neo is from the Animatrix Short Kids Story, although none of the others(Matriculated, Beyond, World Record or Detective Story) seem to be mentioned, unless its subtle and I missed it.
Because music is free, we are given it every day on tv, on the radio in movies. Its shoved down our throats and then when we try to appreciate any element of it that doesn't involve paying at some stage we get reamed, thats not the same as using P2P btw, but fan sites and lyric sites are just people enjoying their music without hurting anyone. Shutting them down is overkill to the extreme.
I donwloaded a rather shite copy of Ghost World, unfortunatly by the time I got around to watching the first half of this wonderfully taiwanesed dubbed(bottom of the screen), russian dubbed(top of the screen), greek dubbed(On top of the russian) I had already downloaded about 85% of the second half. Instead of stopping it, I finished the download and kept them in their shared folder. Everytime someone tried to get them I messaged them
This Copy Of Ghost World Sucks.
With a list of reasons. Unfortunatly for internet pirates as a whole I had to dump the files. But thats one reason I kept/keep poor quality file('s).
I won't comment on your business practices. Suffice it to say that there are a lot of companies like yours that have way too much money and don't know what they are doing.
Pearl Harbour. Scream 1-3. National Security. Anything with Adam Sandler. Crossroads. Glitter. Final Destination 1-2. Dreamcatcher. Phone Booth. Old School. The Hours. Kangaroo Jack. Jurrasic Park 3. Meet the Parents. Minority Report.
Yes, hopefully the French won't try to hard to copy the American model of film production.
In almost all the articles they mention that the NPCs(esspecially Alyx) will be speaking to you in a realistic fashion(IE their mouths will move realistically inrelation to what they are saying) it also says that this is done 'On the fly' ie Realtime.
The Implications for online gameing are staggering, if they can traslate this into the voice communication system they choose too use in HL2 multiplayer then we can finally get a truly immersive experiance in online gaming.
Just my two cents, although thanks to the exchange rate its worth only one.
For anyone else thats downloaded them all Directly to their HDD instead of watching them from the BBC site to get around the big "You Can't watch this unless its at its original source" thing just play it in quicktime.
All the fun of being stuck in court for speeding and carjacking, without the speeding and carjacking, with all case results being sent to the Office of Homeland Security to be added to your permanent record.
Bastard, you stole my Idea
But then again, you did get a +2 by posting a dupe, so it worked at least a little bit, just like it did last time...
The Irony of this is probably going to kill me.
I hate to disagree with you here(because that never happens on Slashdot) but while European developed video games are not as violent as American produced ones they don't tend to concentrate on sex very much, or at least not as much as you imply. Many games developed in Europe attempt to create a more stylish and artistic interpretation of events, concentrating on cool visuals and smooth graphics. Good examples of this is Hitman(1 and 2) and Max Payne, all three of these games are violent but unlike American shooters they don't send a swarm of weaker enemies to attack you, instead they made the enemy as difficult to kill as you. Although sex may come into games in the future its unlikely that it will have much to do with the culture of Europe and their attitutes towards Sex and Violence.
I once wrote an Email to the Lion and Lamb guys asking for their opinion on the games Thief and Dues Ex, about how these games encourage people to intereact within the game world to avoid confrontation and hurting other people. I mentioned Myst and the Sims being the least violent games imaginable and the highest sellers ever. I asked why they thought that all games were violent when some of them encourage intelligent problem solving.
Interestingly they never replied. I guess they get a lot of letters like that and just dump them instead of answering.
If you are scared of Violent Video Games and the impact on your childrens minds do the following.
1. Buy an nVidea TNT2 video card.
2. Install that card on your PC.
3. When Junior complains about it remind him that the computer is for School not games.
All these parent that complain about their childrens minds getting corrupted, I added up how much I've spent on games in the last two years, its almost one and a half thousand dollars(Aussie Dollars so its about $750 US) on games and almost $300 on Hardware($150US)[thats upgrades to Video card, RAM and a new motherboard], there is not a single little five year old on the goddmn planet, other than possibly Bill Gates Daughter, who has ready access to that cash, you want your kid to stay away from computer games, don't buy them games, or better yet, don't buy them the hardware needed to run most games, that stops them pirating stuff as well.
Its simple really.
This is the Australian version of Altavista but it still gives Google the Number 1 result as well for Search Engine.
Interestingly Altavista's home page is pretty clean compared to Yahoo, looks like they took the initiative to copy Google a little earlier than Yahoo, but weren't so desperate as to tell the New York Times about it.

I didn't know Hilary Rosen posted to Slashdot.
Looks like that whole revolution thing to get rid of inheirited rights worked like a charm.
Would you like to buy a cd only to find out that it will only work on X cdplayer? or a device that's only able to run if you're with Z electricity company?
According to the RIAA and MPAA: Yes.
I asked my boss and he said that putting quake 3 on the cash registers didn't sound like a good idea to him.
Luddite.

For those of you who have seen the movie you know I am not making this up. I am surprised I did not see a Taco Bell inside Zion.
It was destroyed in the third invasion of Zion.
As a point of information, you don't play as Neo or Trinity of Morpheus in the Matrix Game.
You play Niobe or Ghost, two minor charecters with a decent backstory(at least according to some reviews).
You are right about the movie/tv industry not respecting gaming as a medium.

A rep from the RIAA is going:
"Consumers? What do they have to do with music?"

Good thing you still have one hand free then.

I'm guessing that Gabe and Tycho will be shocked to see that their strip is being used for educational purposes.
