It's similar to the argument that gun rights advocates make - stricter gun control laws or programs will hurt legitimate owners, but the real problems will still lie with the criminals who don't abide by those laws anyway.
In other words, if you ban spam, only spammers will spam.
"I don't care how many people decide on these awards, how they do it or who they are; I disagree with their decisions. As I'm obviously smarter and more cultured than anyone, they deserve no respect".
I honestly don't mean to be snarky, but then comes a post like this...
God's cool. God created us. God tried to mollycoddle us in the Garden of Eden. What did we do? Told him to STFU and did our own thing.
Actually, Douglas Adams' take makes more sense to me:
"Your God person puts an apple tree in the middle of a garden and says do what you like guys, oh, but don't eat the apple. Surprise surprise, they eat it and he leaps out from behind a bush shouting `Gotcha'. It wouldn't have made any difference if they hadn't eaten it."
"Why not?"
"Because if you're dealing with somebody who has the sort of mentality which likes leaving hats on the pavement with bricks under them you know perfectly well they won't give up. They'll get you in the end."
But the FSF is not a "charitable" institution. It might not be covered.
You know, of course, that not all not-for-profits are charitable institutions, and to apply the law as you claim would create one hell of a loophole to be abused by other people. Do you want to know the names of some other not-for-profits? RIAA, MPAA, BSA.
Actually, I'm pretty sure that selective application of a contract's clauses is grounds for a lawsuit. Any lawyet around here to confirm (or tell me to STFU)?
Really, the whole Transformers premise and storyline are really thin and childish. If you have the huge bufget and SFX, why not do a great BattleTech epic? Really?
You're missing the point. The whole point of having standards is as a starting ground to grow products on. You have your TV standards, and hundreds of companies can build TV sets that just work. That's what we need for browsers. A set of standards so that, whatever browser you use, any site will work. Admittedly, IE has most of the market and can blatantly refuse to submit to standards. That is wrong. So, even if they can do it in practice, they deserve to be despised for it. And before you say it, no, IE is not a standard. You cannot have a standard defined by --and changed at the whims of-- one of the players. Imagine if Sony could alter the TV standards at its own convenience...

Or something.
SSNs are exactly as usernames without password.
It's exactly as idiotic as it sounds.
Comparing the premiere of a freaking movie to Christmas? WTF?
Oh, never mind. I forgot where I was.
I don't get them.
Are they excited to be using Firefox? Or should they change to Firefox to stop whatever happens to them?
Really, someone please explain them to me.
"From the same people who brought you project names like Ubuntu and Ogg Vorbis... we now present.... CHUNGLES!"
Really, WTF?

Great. I can see now the next headline. "Charter school sues Slashdot for libel".
Thanks a lot, man.
Except for very large values of 2?
Point taken... maybe the rule needs a little tweaking. But I'm pretty certain you cannot prove there ar no unicorns.
You misspelled SPECTRE.
As you know, we don't like mistakes.
So, die.
*shoots*
But it seems oddly appropiate in a story about homosexuality...
"Great hot god".
So many levels of wrongness in just three words...

"Unicorns don't exist"
;)
Actually, this is a bad example. Rule one is: You can't prove a negative.
Yeah, yeah, nitpicking. One has to do what one does
And your sig does wonders for your point...
(PS. You've been fed a lot of disinformation, evidently. READ about Buda. That's not what he said AT ALL).
You are confusing "hacking" with "cheating". Now, that is perfectly understandable from reading the rest of your post.
You are a cheating, lying, despicable excuse for a player. And that "Interesting"... well, talk about a mod on crack.
Oh, yeah, have a nice day. Asshole.
...the hacks are listed by number with thermometer icons next to them (see picture above.)
I really couldn't find the picture. Or is this review recycled from somewhere else?
Hey, man, this is Slashdot! Don't try to confuse me with facts, OK?
And that is better.... how?

Dude, Ayn Rand called.
She wants her paranoid rants back.
That's a mighty weird battle plan you got there, Sarge. Say, you don't mind if I try and transfer to a different platoon, do you?
I was wondering how 15 + 2 = 19
Sufficiently large values of 15 and 2?
