both my girlfriend and i are internet addicts. it also doesnt help that i work with computers for a living so its like im a dealer as well.
if there is an internet connection in the house i will be on it there are tons of things i would love to do other than browse the net reading stuff but i can barely tear myself away from it enough to go to the bathroom or eat.
when we moved to our current place we didnt have dsl setup yet and i delayed and delayed and my girlfriend started getting upset and i told her that i liked not having it because i was getting so much stuff done because i couldnt access it and that i knew as soon as i got it back again it would control my life.
How about the fact that alot of people are simply scraping by in this economy?
I'm here in south florida where 1 or 2 out of every 3 people you meet has an investment property on an interest only loan that is already upside down on their mortgage or will soon be.
Many of these people bought the most house they could get living on oatmeal expecting the price to go up to make a killing. These people have effectively committed financial suicide.
By Summer of 2007 this place will effectively be in a realestate depression and the banks will probably wind up owning most of it.
We're going through enough of a hard time as it is trying to obtain and hold onto employment in the face of outsourcing and the trend in making everything contract.
Please dont front page stories like this which just promotes them and makes it even more difficult for us.
you realize this is the case but keep working for years longer because you realize stopping means complete financial collapse because you'll never find a job in another field that pays the same.
I am just about ready to experience this. I moved across the country trying to avoid it when jobs dried up in attempts to secure the same level of income. Now the jobs are drying up here and theres no way out. I look around and locals consider a "good job" to be $10/hr. There is no possible way i can live on this. My girlfriend and I are both asking our parents for help moving back in with them and I may have to declare bankrupcy.

Cronyism, nepotism and poor work ethic are rampant in this state. I'm in miami where the vast majority of it resides. What im trying to figure out though, is what happened? The signs here are everywhere that this state used to function well an do amazing things but that era is gone and i'd like to know why.
