  1. Liftport = Infinium Labs on The Space Elevator - Public or Private? · · Score: 0

A company with a store like theirs doesn't sound much like the kind of company to pull of a feat of this magnitude. This seems more like a ploy to get as much money out of some science hype as they can before people realize that there is no chance that anything will ever be made aside from a lunchbox.

Evolution stands on about as much basis as the Bible does, do you have any data from when the dinosaurs were born? oh yes our great dating methods, can you go back 5000 years and verify any of the dating methods? how about 100k years didn't think so. That isn't what I would consider sceince more like good story telling. Until somebody gets a time machine to prove at least some of it its kinda stupid to claim it as the only thing that can be taught. So if we are just talking about ideas of what may have been, then why not talk about likelyhood of a worldwide flood or many of the other things and BTW most big bang theorists believe that there had to be something to kick start the whole thing.

Wouldn't the scientivic thing be to show both sides of the coin pro's and con's and allow the person to come come up with the answer? If evolution is on such solid ground then you should have no worries to present both next to each other. Remember that the vast majority of the world believe in some form of Creation, so to understand where they are coming from shouldn't you learn in it?

"Kids don't want to feel like they're seeing pap," Dante said. "People will go out of their way to put one dirty word in it just to get the rating that they need to give the picture some legitimacy, so the kids won't feel like they're going to see their little brother's movie."

Actually we go to movies cuz they are good not because of the higher rating. The only people that I know that even bother with ratings watch movies with low ratings not the higher ones.

Computers went through the same growing pains too, the original computers like the Comadore was very feature rich while the PC had add-on's through the isa bus. As long as you offer a simple plug and play version for the average joe you can offer extra features for the truely geeky. That way if somebody really wants to have their xbox record video they can buy the add-on to do that.

This is degree is similiar to ITT degrees (who do also offer 4 year degrees). But if you go to a place that actually checks on where you got your degree it won't be worth it. Yes Degrees are papers that say that you have no experience and can do computer theory but thats the building blocks. They know that you can learn, and that you don't already have "your way" of doing things. My 4 year degree got me my job, with no experience.

Last I remember that was the point of getting a Tivo so you wouldn't miss shows. And if you are already paying for Tivo (you need to to be his "friend") then couldn't you just record all the shows you would otherwise miss? And that would cost less then $25 a month.

I doubt that Firefox could actually run on 65536 bytes of cache. Most webpages won't fit in that small of a cache. So most likely that 65k is in reference to how many kilobytes you want to use hence the 65MB would be the proper number. The only web browser that could servive with a 65kB cache would be lynx.

As far as the pipelining you got me there I don't know enought to post anything (wish more would think of that before posting)

Bush wanted to open the oil reserves in Alaska to help make us independant of Middle East Oil but once again the all intelligencia decided that the risk was to high, well now we can pay for that decision. Oil will run out and prices will climb till then, called supply and demand. They have all the supply and we have all the demand.
