I disagree. The cost involved in buying a 120gb laptop drive is just too high. Last year the difference between buying a 80gb HD and a 100gb HD was almost double. That kind of markup makes no sense. When buying desktop hard drives the $:gb ratio goes down, why should it go up for laptops?
maybe it is because they couldn't get one to run long enough. I have had two Toshibas in my 12" powerbook (one from Apple, the other I bought and installed myself) the first lasted two years, the second, a year and a half. The first I am not too upset about, as I was carting my laptop to and from work, sometimes only puting the 'book to sleep, not powering it off. I was asking for trouble. I coddled the second one though, taking it off the cooling stand at home only sparingly (I didn't want to go through all that again) And it lasted an even SHORTER time! I will NEVER EVER buy another Toshiba hard drive. EVER.
I have to say I laughed out loud when presented with the thought of the open source community designing a mass-market UI meant to compete with a monster like the iPod. How long have OSS developers had to work on Linux and it is still a nightmare for even geeky, albeit non-programer, types.
With all due respect, I suggest they clean up the mess currently within your realm. Don't mark me a troll, It hurts me to say this more than it hurts you.
For example, Go into a brightly lit room and try to differentiate between 10 subtle shades of black. Or go into a dimly lit room and try to discern between 10 subtle shades of white.
Actually, the exact opposite of what you just said would be much, much harder to do.
Isn't it self defeating to claim that MediaSentry broke into her computer to find evidence of copyright infringement, and then claim that there was no evidence of wrongdoing? I know I am expecting the RIAA and MediaSentry to be competent racketeers but really, if they HAD gone to the trouble of breaking into her computer, wouldn't they rather go after someone that actually did have some sort of incriminating files on it?
The fact that an organization so huge could be so incompetent is mind-boggling.
Maybe I am reading to much into your words, but it seems to me that you imply that GNU/Linux going mainstream is inevitable and MacOS going mainstream is a maybe.
Aside from all the usual arguments, MacOS is way closer to Windows than any linux distro in regards to usablity (disclaimer: I have not used Linspire) as well as more "credible" and I would suspect that people would flock to the thing as close to a windows experience as possible.
I think a more likely side effect than either of these is MS destroying its own upgrade loop.
I won't read anything into this, but the page loads fine in Firefox for OSX, but Safari only shows the logo and the blue bar with the search field in it.
Yes, we know there is a difference. The problem is that the union is saying there is a lockout and Telus is saying they are on strike. It isn't about public opinion per-se it is about who you believe.
Sorry, I don't usually correct people in forums, but you opened yourself up to it by pre-empting the "picky":>
Your apostrophy does not show plural, but possession. And there for it would be "Jobs'"
From englishplus.com:
If the singular noun ends with an s, add apostrophe s if the extra syllable is pronounced. If the extra syllable is not pronounced (or if it otherwise looks confusing to add apostrophes), simply add an apostrophe.
Examples: the dress's hem
(Added syllable is pronounced.)
Lloyd Bridges' son
(Added syllable is not pronounced.)
Some authorities always add an apostrophe only to any word ending with s, regardless of its pronunciation. This is acceptable. Whichever standard you follow, be consistent.
I am replying to this in the hopes that you take the time to go back and check who has replied to you... from the website of linuxforipod:
Could I get more information about the audio recording?
Recording is not supported on the 1 and 2G iPods due to hardware limitations however if you are lucky enought to own a 3G iPod you can! The recording feature allows you to record mono audio at different settings that range from 8kHz to 96kHz.

Not to mention it is mono only. Which is great for a guitarist doing a solo gig, but no good for those of us that like to record the concerts we go to. The iPod would be the best cover ever. I have my doubts that the meatheads at the gates would consider taking it away from me.
I kinda want to see Hero and House of Hidden Daggers. Anyone know if they have unskippable trailers?
Go to your local chinatown (if you have one in your city) and pick up either for about five bucks.
No trailiers at all then. AND, you haven't given the MPAA any money.
There are already people making pages of fake email addresses on the www for bots to find. All this accomplishes is that whatever address the spammers use as a spoof reply-to address gets millions of bounced emails.
No contrast ratio info, but everything else is easy to find. http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/specs.html
There is nothing different between these recent articles and any other day of postings there. They are registering on the Slashdot radar today.
so how much Horse Power did the original Enterprise have?
I have seen "The View", the women on that show are not idealized.

I sure hope it is

I'm just saying..
The fact that an organization so huge could be so incompetent is mind-boggling.
That is because it WAS a weather balloon.

I am sure you can, it will just be ridiculously slow.

Why don't they take all these obsolete super-computers and make one big meta-computer?

Again, no offense intended.

Yeah "9-17-Year-Olds Wantin' Sex" doesn't imply that anything illicit is going on at all.

If it didn't have the SE added what would it be? Ewan running around making lightsaber noises?

I bet you go to McDonalds to eat their low-fat offerings too.
I don't see the advantage of this.
