IF the staff were seriously going to test the drive, they would have burned c:\boot.ini or c:\windows or $any-other-folder-within-2-clicks-reach and then test the playback software with the latest porn flic on DVD laying around in their lab. I highly doubt someone would go through the trouble of searching for specific file types (videos/jpegs) if it weren't for harvesting data.
"My Pictures" or "My Documents" is one click away, and a known place for easily verifiable files, i.e. images or video. No searching necessary. Playing a video can validate both the burn and the playback.
That said, I wonder if it was really "child porn."
When reported, the police and courts have the responsibility/requirement to investigate if it is or isn't. Which is what they did. Whether the case is proved or not has little to do with how it was found.
Mostly agree. The only reason I still have an inkjet is to print CD/DVD's. THe Epson R series (I have the R300) prints directly to the DVD surface. Looks just as good as a production disk. Almost sent the wrong one back to Netflix once.
For any real printing, I have a Dell 3100 color laser ($300). Almost 2 yrs old, and about 80% left on the carts. At this rate, when the toner runs out, a new color laser will be about $100.
Yes, every asteroid on television will undoubtedly hit over New York or Los Angeles. There must be some exceptionally high gravitational field at those locations.
Imagine if a group of atheists put one of these devices near the entrance to a church.
or outside the entrance to a rave/new age club.

There were cars getting better than that average in the late 70s and all that took was the threat of people refusing to buy gas guzzlers because of the oil shortage.
Right. Now add in anti-lock, power windows/locks/mirrors, heated seats, multizone climate control, airbags for every possible angle, nav systems, multiple TV screens and the electronics to run them, ad infinitum. All that stuff has a weight penalty, which is a big mileage killer. Now add in more powerful, yet cleaner, engines.
A 1975 Civic weighed in at 1500 lbs. A 2007 Civic DX is 2700 lbs. Almost twice, and it still gets at least similar, if not better, mileage.
a single-stage-to-orbit vehicle equipped with both scramjets and a rocket engine.
Good concept, but that's not quite 'SSTO'. And using aircraft engines as the 'first stage' has been done for a long time.
More properly, you should have said: "a single vehicle equipped with both scramjets and a rocket engine." But then why do you haul the scramjet for the orbital stage? Use that to get high, and then drop it.
I'm a doctor in a hospital that just deployed an electronic health record system that is slower than the system it replaced - which was slower than the TTY system it replaced - that refuses to search patient names if you can't provide a first initial.
Pay attention here, IT freaks. Notice that the user here (possibly your doctor) says nothing about the OS. This is simply abysmal design and implementation. Unix/Linux/Windows/OSX/Oracle/Postgres/MySQL/MSSQL....ALL could end up thusly. Or all could end up not too bad. Design it right, and build it right. Think about what your user is actually trying to accomplish.
I saw some comments upthread about RedHat this and Linux that...Bullshit. The user interface is (most of) the key. If you screw that, the backend matters little.
Yes, if you start from a stable base, it is easier. But no matter what the base is, if you fuck up the actual program and interface the that user, in this case a doctor or nurse, uses....everything else is irrelevant. They will hate it. And still not care what the base OS is.
Not quite that easy. The battery packs are/will be heavy. This will require some motorized robotic arm or something. And will the new pack you get be in the same condition as the good one you just exchanged?
Not to shoot the idea down, but there are some concerns with that concept.
or spend a not-insignificant number of dollars on a handset so they can pay (exhorbitantly) as they go.
It's not that bad anymore. My pay as you go (VirginMobile) is averaging ~$17/month total for usage of ~110 minutes/month. IIRC, the handset was $20 when I bought it.
And I had to be dragged kicking and screaming into having the damn leash.
If you're considering doing this on the sly with a prospective mate, then maybe *you're* the one who is not suitable, due to a total lack of ethics and morals.
I'm sure I'll be corrected, but your typical bomb's purpose is to explode, isn't it?
The purpose of the weapon is to destroy something else, or render it unseable. A tank, for instance. If it can be done without the big boom, so much the better. Previously, you needed the explosion and shrapnel, because 'close' was a good as it got. If you can actually hit the object, you may not need the boom.
WWII, you needed an entire squadron of aircraft to take out one bridge. They'd drop a couple hundred bombs, in the hope that one actually hits the bridge in a vulnerable spot. Now, it can (sometimes) be done with one bomb.
2000lb @ 500mph is more than enough to disable/destroy a tank. Provided you actually hit it.
Prepare him how you want. Butter smeared over the skin, or a combo of spices, or whatever.
Then pop him in a nice large grill for a few hours. Indirect heat of course. None of your punkass propane grills...has to be a regular charcoal grill. Pan of water in the bottom for a little steam. Baste/inject regularly. mmmmmm
Mine is in now.

The coffee shop owner could get a better solution by going to his local university (or the local DeVry or ITT tech), and getting some random 2nd or 3rd year student to do it for cheap (or free). Jane Doe doing it for $300 (after a weekend with this book) has juuuuust enough knowledge to screw it up, and sour the coffee shop owner on future projects.
This harkens back to the days of the late 90's, when anyone who knew the acronym HTML could get a paying gig.

This sounds like a good intro book but nothing of use to a seasoned DBA.
And a book good for a seasoned DBA will be way over the head of a newbie. Not everyone is at the same level. Not every book should be written for 'everyone'.
Having said that...reading one book in a couple of days does not a SQL developer make.

Seeing this guys level of expertise, the pics were probably in his MyPictures folder.

No, they just suck.
Well if someone's sending you the packets then either you requested them or something odd is going on.

That's been our policy for years. No new releases/updates/pushes on Fridays. Period.

Nuclear energy, yes. Nuclear weapons, no. And they aren't very forthcoming on what exactly they are doing. Thus the assumption of the worst.

4. Hope you have good aim.
What has changed? Inquiring minds want to know
Maybe because the aircraft and the associated internal network is designed for it at the start.
The Notepad in XP (v5.1) will happily open (at least) a 1.5Mb .jpg renamed as .txt. The 64k limit went away long ago.
It does take a while though.
The pay as you go phones are for people who ... B) buy into the whole "it's cheaper cuz you pay for the minutes up front".
For me and my particular usage, it is cheaper. I pay ~$17/month total for my pay as you go. How much do you pay for your phone?

Rumor has it some laser guided bombs were filled with cement
Not rumor, fact.
A 2000lb guided rock hitting a particular vehicle/tank is just as effective as a 2000lb MK-84.
