I think it does since KDE 3.1(Major change), Gnome 2.2(Major Change), Red Hat modified kernel 2.4.20(Major Change), XFree86 4.3.0-stable(Major as seen in beta 8.0.94), and Glibc 2.3.x(Major). I think there is enough to give such a number.
Hopefully it 9.0 won't break compatiblity with Ximian Gnome for 8.0 rather maybe a quick patch or 9.0 would be out before Ximian Gnome will and the project would adjust to get 9.0 compatiblity.
Red Hat 8 didn't use GCC 2.96, it used the stable build from 3.x I don't think they modified it this time either. I know the Mplayer wouldn't compile under 2.96. Red Hat said they fixed problems with those things but still didn't work. I think Red Hat moved to 3.x because its faster and it seems to be the going trend with distros.
What they need to focus on after the unified desktop project is pretty much done(they should provide other themes as well as blue curve) is to make GUIs for programs, most people don't like to type and point and click is easier even if it doesn't give you all the options, a GCC UI could be cool, Apple has one for their compilier, why shouldn't we, though I would still use the text one a UI would make it less intimidating for lets say Dick Blick(not the art supply store).
They wouldn't be able to do, due to the device drivers that need to be written would overwhelm them and the fact that there are those people that won't change operating systems because they already have one that came to their computer. They wouldn't be able to get that tight intergration as the PPC computer they sell because of so many different combinations. I know that there are a lot of PPC combination but not as much as other computers. Itanium perhaps, but does that mean anyone with and Itanium can run it or does it have to be a prebuilt system from Apple or select OEMs. I would buy OS X legally because it looks so cool and it Unix. If OS X is ever released on x86 it would be a last resort to keep the company afloat. I also recall that Steve Jobs has never denied any claim of changing archs, always keeping the public wondering and leaving the door open, and not making him look like and idiot if they do.
unless it really kicks up kind of like DS9 did, well for me I thought the first season was bad but its what sets the stage, so it has to be kind of boring in some respect. Honestly though I want series 5 to be in the future, future not 150 years in the future. Its the whole point of Star Trek, a utopian society with cool gagets and gizmos, I don't need to see how it got there. Hey, you don't have to take my word for it.
Well it would be the end of Microsoft since we'd all have a lawsuit against them. Then we would take the code and put it into Linux and make every Win32 program run at native speeds or faster.
We never gave Iraq, weapons of Mass Destruction. Well atleast the United States didn't. We gave them to Iran since they were being invaded by Iraq. The French and Soviets gave Iraq weaponary.
Linux clients for all their new games, pending publisher(or whose ever above them) allowing. I would like to see that new Star Wars game they are making for linux. Well hopefully things go well for them. I hope that Linux gaming is just not a fad but a reality for gamers. Most people I've asked don't use Linux because there aren't enough games to play. Maybe it will close the bridge.
My dad is the sameway, when he comes over he plays Pogo, but in my apartment we act like big boys and use Mozilla, or Phoenix. I swear to god I should have bought a G4 Tower before I left the house.
If it good, I'll buy it and hopefully they won't port it to Windows. That will be the day everything changes, the day that Linux gets it own exclusive game.
use U.S. Spy satillites to check the damage on Columbia, like Sept 11, they did nothing to try and prevent before with having knowledge of what was to come.
They most likely do want to get out and get bought. 1 Billion isn't a lot in today's big buissness. SCO will most likely be in the same place again in a year if they win. Microsoft will ofcourse step in and try to buy since well if they don't, and lets say IBM decided to GPL Unix, Microsoft's dominace will crumple quicker than before.
Also, if SCO does win and they demand royalties how do get royalties from something thats already free? We are talking about the Linux kernel containing this code, or am I missing something.
SCO is suing IBM not to win, but they are hoping that IBM will buy them out before the case. IBM could also not buy them out immediatly but drag the case out and put SCO out of buissness or dissolve the case. Then IBM can buy their assets and own Unix. Ofcourse they can GPL Unix (who really care if they do or don't besides the vendors themselves, its going to happen anyway if UNIX wants to still compete with Linux). Put all the good stuff into Linux that isn't there and wala a excellent 1st rate operating system.
Well then like on that one Simpsons episode the other memebers of United Linux can make a new club and call it the "No SCO-Caldera club" or "United with everyone else except SCO-Caldera" Not that its a club more like a partnership.
This makes the least sense possible or your pretty bad at FUDing. Point is maybe all he/she had was a P2-400, so what are you asking him to do, go out any buy a slower processor, you just make no sense or maybe the angle I'm coming at makes not sense. How much logic are you to find in that one sentence?
Companies like Barrysworld will. Companies like these base their entire company off renting servers and getting subsriptions to rent servers for a block of time a week. People would want to best for what they pay. Also people would want to just piss away money, or they have the money.

and it solves dependencies for you, and confirms to download it as well. I'd trust Red Hat updating my system more then Microsoft would you?

Problem is that KDE doesn't compile on RH now a days correctly, or atleast qt 3.x doesn't. I like how both KDE and Red Hat desktop look like.
There is a catch for a free update, look at their EULA.

I'm still holding out for the theoretical 75tbps over glass fiber, it will be so fast it blow anything up the RIAA has to track it.

I guess it gouged your eyes out since you can read and correct what you wrote.

Yes but all the votes went to Sadam with the red background on the campain flag or the one with the white.

Windows is still going to use the swap file.

Yes, I know I only spent 5 mins getting my Counter-Strike degree.
