    I would and have walked away, my worth is my accumulated knowledge and abilities,
    if you want me to do a job, I'll do it,
    if you want someone else to do a job, they can do it,
    never expect me to do someone else's work for them.

    The sooner everyone stops passing on knowledge the harder it will be to get shafted.
    The employer and contracting company will have the expense of running up a large number of new workers.
    It could even blow up in their faces. The only thing companies understand is money.

    Sounds like workers need to unite to have enough power to face up to the employers.
    Sounds like union talk, well it's not.
    Companies are well organised with industry groups which give them greater strength than they have as a single company.

    Workers have been loosing ground for a few decades now, the middle class is in damage control. Personal debt is sky-rocketing.

    Australia gives gas and coal power generators billions in subsidies per year, they are not viable either.

    The Australian government has the right to create any bogus law they want.
    If you don't like the new law, just challenge it in the high court.
    If you win, good on you, but generally they will just turn around and
    remake the law with a clause it can't be challenged by the high court.

    I have enough information - our politicians are all corrupt and in the pay of corporations.
    This is just way over the top surveillance in the name of anti-terrorism.
    I always keep a low profile, don't vote, don't bother the tax office with tax refunds
    (I pay full tax), don't bother social security and don't see why I should be a statistic,
    unless it fits into the category of being one of the unseen.

  17. I would like to see an associated feature - converting to different formats, using capable, standard libraries.
    I use three applications which use their own code for the same conversion.
    Each resulting file is quite different, although each fits into parts of the file standard.

    I don't work in my trade because the wages offered are too low.
    Every time I have gone back to "employment" it has been crap.
    I have withdrawn my labour.
    I only work for myself or friends.
    I now enjoy working as an artisan, don't earn as much, but I'm not a wage slave.

  22. If search was built into the routing protocols of the internet,
    it wouldn't be a function owned by Google or anyone else.
    It is such a fundamental requirement for a large network,
    it should be an extension of DNS augmented by the servers providing the content.

    The costs in terms of money, power, server farms, etc is extraordinary
    because it has needed to be tacked on top of the internet.

    Most apps intrude too much into my privacy.
    I disable nearly everything.
    I'd rather my privacy than having a really useful device in my hands.
    I want an phone running Linux, just like my pc, where I have full control.
