So, even though video games can be compared to movies in terms of sales (I know its often misleading, but the fact that they can even compare is noteworthy) people think that so-called 'gamers' are another culture?
Since the gamecube is the '1337' gamerz' choice of console (my choice as well...) I bet the reason why it isnt selling is the same reason why g4techtv sucks now.
People would rather have their games be cool, rather than well designed.
Look at G4techtv (if techtv even fits in there.) Before the so called 'merger,' tech tv was a bastion of great programming. Post 'merger,' techtv turns into G4techtv, a way for game companies to hype their games. Its sole purpose is to attract advertisers, and turn a profit. Techtv wasn't profitable at all, ever.
While I hate the new g4, i understand their logic. Since gamecubes have a less installed userbase (in north america and europe) 3rd parties are less likely to make games for it. Its economics people.
I prefer the cube, but understand where publishers are coming from.
NO....... its not still legal. Just because i murdered someone, and am a suspect, doesn't mean they let me out to roam the streets even though i'm still techincally innocent. Its a matter of controlling damage, and lets be honest, its not legal to begin with. Your suprnova collection isn't legal. My IRC collection isn't legal.
If you want something that isn't going to be shut down, try ircspy (google!) and see how that works out for you.
I still think might be defensible isn't a good enough reason to raise $30,000. Who knows, since copyright infringement is so legitamate in the first place, they might just steal the $30,000 too! I mean honor among theives, but still.
I just don't see how an operation such as loki can have the balls to ask for donations.
Basically, i don't see how their legal defense would go. "we only provide links to the torrents" would be suprnovas, but isn't loki a tracker?
"we're not the ones downloading, we're just facilitating."
thats like saying "i didn't make him shoot his younger brother, i just gave him the gun, and then told his brother to stand there for a few seconds, and i'd give him a cookie.
My initial feeling is "THOSE MORONS! I WANT FREE WIFI!"
But once i thought about it, i'd rather verizon (et al.) worked cooporatively with city governments. City governments want city wide wifi, verizon could do it, add a few dollars here and there, wam bam. Less complaints from verizon, and nearly free wifi. I'm a fan.
At least verizon goes to bat against other corporate conglomorates. (even though they lost that whole subpoena thing.)
I've always had crap luck with memorex, ever since the semi silver cover days. I was partial to google gear, but i don't know if they even exist. Now i go to costco/sams club and get whats the cheapest.
Can you give them your software on a DLT? Whenever we master DVDs, they always end up on DLT at some point. I don't know anything about cds, i come from a video production background... but just my 2 cents.
Since it seems like no other posts have been that great, i'd add my non-useful expertise into the mix.
Only in florida would people not study the problem with sinkholes in the first place. As if the billboards everywhere saying "lost your home in a sinkhole?" didn't let verizon know that they should do better groundwork checking.
At least it was in hillsborough county, and not polk county. In polk, sinkholes are such a problem a city called winterhaven claims "land of 1000 lakes." You know where those lakes came from? You guessed it, Sinkholes. Everywhere.
Animal crossing is one of those unique games that reaches out to everyone, regardless of demographics. I can play it, my friend and his wife play it, my niece plays it. I heard they're releasing Animal Crossing for Nintendo's DS, so that will make house counstruction much easier with a touch screen.
Hey, i'm just getting into wifi, and i want to know a couple websites for boosting my wireless range, my college is about a mile away, and i'd like to get the signal there.
no, i think you can cash out too. Project Entropia, last time i checked, had a similar system, but it begs the question "what happens if they started losing money?" i'm sure its like vegas, where everyone can't be a winner, but its an interesting question.
so then don't market it as an awesome gaming platform, and more of a sidekick (t-mobile) competitior... if it had better applications than its lack luster gaming design, i would maybe consider it.

wow.
+1 Interesting.

I hope they don't get anymore money.

just incase you read this comment, you can still go to the site and uncomment the faq. he didn't delete any of the actual faq, just commented it.
I'd really like to see the numbers, because the Gamecube owners I know are fairly loyal, and all buy 10+ games.
(plus a minute amount of piracy compared to Dreamcast, PS2, and XboX)
um.... governments aren't out to save lives.
that was an obligitory reply to your sig.
really funny, might I ad.
(and this is off topic.)

side note, voicestream doesn't exist anymore... but t-mobile has done a pretty good job picking up their slack
so then don't market it as an awesome gaming platform, and more of a sidekick (t-mobile) competitior... if it had better applications than its lack luster gaming design, i would maybe consider it.
