Language is simply an inter-human communication protocol. English is like Ethernet, and French is like token-ring. Both have advantages, but it's better if one simply drives the other into total obsolesence according to some factor such as Capitalist market popularity, and with languages this is pervasiveness and use. I'm worried that the French will start bombing countries if their language starts slipping into obsolesence. Maintaining an unpopular language for no reason shows how powerful the entrenched establishment of some countries are. I have noticed that the average French farmer doesn't like English, and will actively try to make life difficult for such a person, like throwing him out of the store. I haven't experienced this level of racism anywhere else.
I'd be really curious to hear what Peter Deutch (Aladdin Ghostscript) and the commercial SSH developers have to say about idealism, commercialism, earning a living, competing against their own earlier free software, etc.
I'd actually expect ClickWrap to have a better chance of passing Supreme judicial review. It's difficult to argue that people have entered into a contract if one party has never seen or communicated with the others. Most clickwrap doesn't entail communication, but some forms do (click-to-download, or the rarer click-for-obligatory-registration), so they more resemble a traditionally binding agreement

My manager is within earshot and I overheard him getting calls from the welfare office, I go to the welfare office's job postings website and to my horror I've found my own job on offer PLUS requiring certifications that I don't have. Despite the fact I've finished all my projects on time, they want someone with certification because that person would "seem" to be able to do the job better than me is my guess. I'm starting to lose faith in Capitalism, it just doesn't work, Sales teams can sell unfinished software (and regard selling bad software as a macho challenge), marketing teams can make the shoddiest trash look great. To be honest, after reading their description of my product, I feel like I'm making candy with all the toppings, not software

I had to wipe the drive and do a Ghost image install of Win2k, and only after I'd wiped both(?!) partitions on the drive did it occur to me that I needed one of them to get all the hardware working. I eventually got an ethernet driver re-assembled from floppies and got on the internet to download the rest
Dell does this also with their Inspiron Celeron notebooks. There are proprietary motherboard Ethernet drivers located in C:\DRIVERS of the machine. When my WinXP blew up in my face and I was reinstalling it, I got the message "Driver for Device: Motherboard Ethernet not found. Please connect to the Internet so that these drivers can be downloaded from the Microsoft website".What a stupid error.
After searching the restore CD for the drivers, and even a warez copy of XP Pro that I had, I still couldn't bring the machine back up. Then I searched the machine's hard drive (which I has been tempted to reformat/repartition) and found a whole bunch of Drivers in C:\DRIVERS. I double-clicked on all of them, installed Sound Card drivers (again), screen drivers (again) and eventually I got to motherboard Ethernet driver (Thank God).
If I had reformatted/erased the partition I would have lost those drivers.

So what happens to free software? Looks like either the money stays in the corporations by them creating software, paying developers, and billing clients; or the money is in the populous' Bank account so the free software developers create software and buy food out of their own money earned by other means. This implies that it's impossible to have full-time free software developers, as especially in the anti-Socialist United States, people that don't earn money for their work starve to death and get no healthcare as a rule. Where does Linus get his food? Can free software ever have a permanent core developer group that doesn't starve to death? I'm quite concerned - the best software like QNX has had the same full-time specialised core developers for many decades, can Linux only ever be a mishmash of half-baked ideas?
