I think you're just repeating things that "everyone knows" without any real basis for it. I mean I have a tablet running 1.6 and a phone with 2.2. All the difference in the world as far as hardware and software. And I still haven't run into any problems. Even better, I can just download programs I bought for the phone right onto the tablet.
I'm so sleep starved that for one brief wonderful second I thought this read there was a final fantasy game coming out for the pc-engine. God that was a wonderful, under rated, system.
In my experience at least, it has steadily improved. Though it's not like there's a huge amount of kde'centric distros to compete against at this point.
I loved when I was unemployed, and with severe medical problems on top. Seeing all the "god is so great you guys!" posts were annoying as fuck. I can at least grasp the lack of christian charity on their part. But it's seriously dickish behavior to essentially go up to a poor person, flaunt how great life is going for you, and then just walk away.
It really is a weird assumption. As if any of us are making a hobby out of hooking up bark controlled shotguns to our dogs. We're a super violent xenophobic ape, it'd be illogical as hell to give that to us unless it came as a double package with genetic engineering for pacifism.
You're obviously trolling, but I think it does bring up a good point. One of the things I really like about this trend is that it moves away from passive viewing. It's less about sitting down and watching anything for hours and hours, as it is about only going to the tv for a specific show.
The $90 mark seems to be a sweet spot for a lot of people when it comes to buying electronics on a whim. One of those little illogical ways the mind works. But fuck if I don't notice it happening with me, a lot. I'm really having to fight the urge to just buy a ton of those cheapo $90 android tablets and litter them all over the place. Even though I know it makes no sense that I don't blink at the idea of buying two of those, but a single boxee at almost the same price puts me in that "need to think about where my money is going" mode.
I have an android tablet, and I think it's a pretty good sign that it won't be that big of a problem. So far I've had a problem with one emulator on it. That's it. Everything else, written for smaller screen, has just scaled perfectly.
Exactly. I'm always amazed that people think finding a contradiction in the bible will shock and astound anyone. It's not like the first time something like that's happened. There's a pretty standard set of excuses that fit all occasions.
Oh yah, I'm terrified. I and everyone I know is just hardly getting by paying the massive debt incurred by school. The economy is shit, our retirement plan is going to be killing ourselves because we can't afford a real one, and I've been hacking my lungs up the past month because I can't afford to go to the doctor to get a prescription for the antibiotics I can't pay for either. We don't care, because privacy concerns are so minuscule compared to all our other problems. Rome's burning, it just set my hair ablaze. Fuck if I'm not going to enjoy the nice fiddle music as I burn.
I hated java before I took up writing for android. What I learned was that I hated java libraries and the million and one legacy additions. In particular, I hated swing. Java's synatax without all that is actually kind of nice.
Personally, I can't stand the look of a fedora. But I will say that they are pretty much on the out with your average hipster. I'd say it's been a year or two since they've really been on the in there.
The keypress detection issue was really driven home for me when I bought one of those cheapo $90 Chinese android tablets. It's a surprisingly usable device. But the sensitivity for keypresses is pretty bad. It's all but impossible to type with it using my hands as a result. I have to use a stylus or my fingernail.
To "get" someone. Fuck you. Seriously, you suck and deserve the suffering a choice in life like that is going to bring on you. The only downside is that you're dragging another person into your own personal hell by tricking them like that. It's like the guy who lies to get a girl in the sack for a one night fling. Except it's not one night, it's months or years or even a lifetime.
The sad thing is that I hate the role playing game jokes mostly because they never get them right. The IT Crowd is the only one I can think of off the top of my head that didn't screw it up so badly that any humor was lost.
Most of my fellow twenty somethings I know both aren't expecting those services to be around when they get older, and are so poor and saddled with debt from student loans and the like that they have no way of saving to give themselves any real retirement. I'm just assuming I'm going to have to kill myself when it's time to retire. I suspect I'm not alone in that assumption, just that most people aren't willing to admit it.
Man, speak for yourself on that. I'm stuck with a 4gb cap and use a program to monitor my use. I stream a lot of media, podcasts, music, etc. The only reason I don't go over is because I take an active effort to keep track of it.
You've never had an off day where you blow up at someone, but then come back to your senses and apologise for it?
Nope, and never really understood people who do. As much as I have a lot of bad to say about my childhood, it had one positive. I learned very early to not say anything unless I meant it, and I was prepared to face the consequences. It gets a bit tedious hearing adults making excuses for themselves for behavior that I got past as a little kid.
Dude, how sheltered was your life anyway? I was one year older than that kid when my dad died, and I had NO parents for a while. Let alone someone to wipe my ass for me.
I wish there wasn't a cap of 5, because you deserve far higher moderation. That was well said. Even if I still can't beat ninja gaiden or the first castlevania.
That was my thought as well. I 'still' have my 1st gen xbox around because of the sheer volume of homebrew and emulators that made its way there. I've never bothered with keeping an outdated console around in that way.
It seems like this stuff is a solution in search of a real problem.
Totally. I say that every time I see a commercial for diabetes related materials. I mean I don't have diabetes. Seems like their insulin is a solution in search of a problem.

I use linux on the desktop and android on my phone. The annoyances skype has provided between those two are so huge I don't know where to start.

The regulatory aspects in particular are why I never get too excited by things like this.

The only operating system endorsed by old greg.
