  1. Re:How can they REQUIRE it? on Feds to Require Digital Receivers In All New TVs? · · Score: 4, Informative

If they cease to tranmit an analog signal it will force everyone without a digital reciever or a tv capable of decoding digital signals to upgrade if they want to continue to watch tv. Currently the FCC mandates that broadcast channels be transmitted via analog but if they change that ruling then they certainly can require it.

Sure competition is good and a competitive market would be great but right now protecting existing companies and ensuring that they don't falter like WorldCom and Enron is essential.

Now I know we supposedly did, but its hard for me to believe that one trip was sufficient to discover everything that the moon has on it to explore. The other thing is that during this time it was a race against the Russians but moreover a race against Communism and what better way to show American superiority than to fabricate a lie saying we were the first to reach the moon? I've seen those pictures that show the flag waving like theres wind but it's not those that concern me, it's the fact that we never sent a second mission to the moon.

I know everyone is saying this is a bad move for HP and it very well may be but I think I see what they are doing. If Dell intends to produce their own printers why would they continue to purchase HP priinters in the future when it obviously will end up being far cheaper for them to manufactor and package their own. HP is trying to cut them off before they can do this and hurt them in computer sales when they won't be able to package anymore HP printers while going on with this. One of two things will happen, either Dell will get suckered into a big fat increase on HP printers or they will have to go with another manufactor. Either way its not that bad for HP because they can focus on supplying other vendors, theirselves included or they will get some additional revenue while hurting Dell. Business as usual.
