Really if the terrorist can impersonate a pilot he has no need for a weapon at all. As we saw on 911, the aircraft IS the weapon. It's silly to bother checking the guy you're handing the plane to for weapons. Concentrate instead on making sure you're handing the plane off to the right guy.
I wonder what the founding fathers would think of all this....but of coursed if they were alive today they would be considered anti-government terrorists.
No problem, all they have to do to compete is sell a 1+ ghz dual core equipped tablet with retina class graphics and plenty of storage and ram for $150. Easy. All it takes is bleeding off a few billion dollars. The only company I know of that does that just to crack open a new market is MicroSoft. I can't see anyone else throwing tons of money into a hole on the chance that when they start giving tablets away that Apple wont just jump to a new tablet that changes the game all over leaving them with billions gone and no market still. So far the only tablet I've seen that I like other than the iPad is the Galaxy Tab and frankly at the same price point I'll still take an iPad because iOS is still better although android is narrowing the gap quickly. I've got to say though...if I can find a tablet just as good as an iPad for $150 I'll take it.
How about: That's what parents are for. If kids are out at night up to no good someone needs to take a look at their parents. Mine didn't roam around after midnight...or go anywhere much at all on school nights. They bitched like hell when they were teenagers, told me they hated me, and now that they have kids of their own suddenly they get it. Amazing.
What's your point? The government is broken? We know that. As long as people think that democrats and republicans are in any way interested in actually fixing what is broken and keep voting for the liars then it'll will not only stay broken but continue to get worse. Get used to it because it's going to get a lot worse.
It all depends on your definition of open. I'm guessing he's going to be using MicroSoft's definition. It's not like the government's going to hire Stallman you know.
Amazingly Ford managed to continue making money while producing Big Trucks and Muscle Cars. GM and Chrysler should have been allowed to fail. They are both grossly mismanaged. The government went into direct competition with Ford, if they hadn't propped up the other two then Ford would be the only US automaker and could easily compete with foreign car companies. There is a market for both traditional American cars and smaller foreign autos. Government interference in the market causes all kind of problems, much more than it helps.
There are only so many units of energy (BTU's) in a gallon of fuel. After you hit a certain efficiency level you have to look elsewhere for improvements. There is no free lunch. You can lighten the load only so much and maintain safety. No decent sized vehicle is going to get 60mpg.
That's a good thing. Some people can have their shitty little pieces of plastic and I can have my 4000 pound luxury cruiser. Everybody is happy that way.
It was an idiotic suggestion. There is no good solution. Killing them is not really going to help a lot but it cuts down on repeat offenders. There is no other solution at all. Somalia is broken beyond any fixing. You'd have to kill everyone there to save them, it's that screwed up. If you go in and try to feed people you wind up fighting for your life because the warlords will be all over you. It's their territory and you are encroaching. You give the food to them and they distribute it...it's been tried and millions starved while the warlords sold the food to people with money. The poor just keep dying. The only solution is to take over the country and run it for a generation or two with an iron fist and teach the children how to be human. Nobody has that kind of determination, it's never going to happen. Too bad, where's Alexander the Great when you need him.
It's called the two party shuffle. There is really only one party...the money party. They use push button issues like abortion to keep people divided so they can lift their wallets.
Well no doubt some people like them. I mean some people like different things. Overall though WP7 isn't proving to be very popular. I've seen it and I'm underwhelmed. Tastes vary and there is always room for something different. To me the nokia n900 with maemo is the best phone. Choice is good and I'm glad to see it but I think the biggest threat to apple has to be the droids.
I think Jobs and co. look at the windows phones and laugh themselves silly. They look at android and think, "damn, if google pulls it's head out of it's ass this could be trouble."
Actually old Ronnie was pretty sharp. My favorite quote was "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, I'm from the government and I'm here to help."

Thanks for that info. I'd never thought about it in that manner and just assumed that resistive was inferior. Now I know something new.

resistive or capacitive screen?
Buy her some fancy lingerie and jewelry. It might cost more than the tablet but you'll probably enjoy it more at least.

No luxury trucks? Are you kidding me? Have you looked inside a King Ranch F250? They don't call them Country Cadillacs for no reason.
Oh damn that is good. Gotta remember that one.
An excellent guess. Tucker was innovative but the big 3 stomped it out by leveraging their government servants.

It doesn't rust but it can corrode.
It's a sports car. It's not supposed to be comfortable. Gas mileage is optional. It's supposed to break frequently and be a bitch to work on.

I want one for my laptop. At last I'll be able to surf continuously.
I think it's got naught to do with the teabaggers. It's entirely possible to be a treehugger and a teabagger.
