This. There is no way to have privacy in the modern connected world. Anyone who thinks so is deluding themselves. A cell phone is a tracker by design. If you are doing anything you don't want someone to know about and you have a cell phone on you then you are at risk. Spend money with a debit card? Every purchase you make is tracked forever. We have to trust the government and corporations, we have no real choice. If it ever gets to the point we really can't then you can bet it'll take a bloody revolution to fix it because they'll have eyes on everything you do and hear everything you say. It'll make 1984 look like an optimistic prediction of the future.

I don't see it that way. There are lots of interesting shows to watch. I don't have time to watch everything but that is okay as long as I can enjoy something when I feel like it. My wife is retired and spends a lot more time watching TV now and she and I have 5 shows we regularly watch together that she DVR's. I can see why he's complaining but why in hell viewers would be complaining? He hates competition but I seriously doubt any viewers are complaining in this day and age of too much to watch. Back when I was young and two good shows came on in the same time slot I would be pissed but now it's so simple to time shift. Life is pretty good in the 20th century. TV sucked in the 70's.

The statistics don't support that. The only modern fighter anywhere close to it's failure rate is the Navy F-18 which is a carrier jet. The lifetime loss rate per 100,000 flight hours of the F-16 is almost twice that of the F-15.

Because the corporations that are going to hire them for multi-million dollar consulting and lobbying jobs when they retire hate the A-10. It doesn't make them money like the F-35. The F-35 bleeds cash like the stuck pig it flies like. Plus, with only one engine it'll litter the ground everywhere with wreckage so they can make even more money replacing them. I think we should shoot the guys that came up with the idea of another single engine warcraft. The fuckers don't ever learn from their mistakes. The F-16 and F-105 have the most miserable safety records and it's all about that solo engine. When it dies the only option is the ejection handle. If the F-15 had been single engine we'd be missing at least a couple hundred more of them. Instead, when one engine died they just declared an IFE and went back to base.

We have a peach packing plant in my area that employs hundreds of migrant workers. They are all here legally. They come every year, make their money and return to their homes when the season ends. It's amazing how well it works. Yes, we need the laborers but we need to operate within the law. It's not that fucking hard. It's mostly shoddy operators in the US that want labor with no rules. No visas, no OSHA, no minimum wage. Basically just slave labor that has no rights to complain about conditions. Since they are desperate they get exploited by employers that care only for profits. They can't get American labor to work like a slave in hazardous conditions for next to no pay so they utilize illegals. It needs to stop and all it will take is serious jail time for these assholes. That is never going to happen though.

  16. Re:Wrong people to strip on Chris Christie Proposes Tracking Immigrants the Way FedEx Tracks Packages · · Score: 1

That's why it hasn't been stamped out. Too many people benefit. Employers employ these poor people because they are desperate. They often pay them less than minimum wage with no benefits and in environments that would make OSHA have a fit. Who are they going to complain to? The perfect victims.

Better would be to put the people that hire them in jail. If there was no job for illegals then there would be only a fraction of them here. As long as you have a demand for what's damn near slave labor then desperate people will find a way to get here. Kill the demand by jailing illegal employers.
