Ah yes this reminds me of Jump The Shark. Basically when a show jumps the shark it goes to hell in a handbasket. to me it was when Mulder left. I mean he WAS the x-files... oh and incase you don't know 'Jumping the shark' was coined from happy days... after the fateful episode when The Fonz jumped the shark the show went to hell.
Posted to MS in november and it still happens... I would think that this would be a top priority to get fixed. only because it can be uses in bad ways.
question is do you have a use for it? unless you do massive file transfers many times a day (and who doesn't) or are connecting to a backbone its not really worth it. also the story says 'For 36 dollars' too bad that card is onsale. and in a week it will probably be back to its 100 dollar price.
And personally I wouldn't mind building my self a Gigabit Ethernet but only if I had an external connection to use it on. even then I would never use the full speed of it because of the servers I am connecting to caps and other factors. Oh well thats just my two cents.
the only way they can get it to run is by making every texture white... I can run quake 3 at 2048x1536 at 600 FPS IF I turn all textures off. course I can't see anything... and my monitor don't support it... but its possible. also what happens when a patch comes out? if you don't have the HD you are fubared and can't play. unless they make a new game which won't need patching. Ah that'll be the day...
it bites on the PC (most PCs can't run it at full graphics) it will bite on the ps2. I am not even going comment on the type of game... cause its a matter of opinion. personally I think they should work on making the PC version work before going on to a new version.

The problem is (as stated in the article) that most people are not as tech savvy as the majority of/. is. so they will dl it thinking its a new plugin or something they will have to have to view the site. also as long as they click yes its legal... and on porn sites if you click that you are 18 its like accepting the EULA so they can have free reign with ads...
I doubt they would ever make a PC card based ps2... only because someone would figure out how to crack the games via that.. what they should do is integrate headphone jacks (I dun't got one so I don't know if they already have them correct me if I am wrong) and VGA output... rather than having a VGA box like the DC did...
kinda like when the 750x units came out for the psx... mod chippers had to make(nay:reprogram) new chips. then when the 900x series came out same thing... they will just adapt.
the gd-rom drive isn't vaporware... only sega didn't make it... some korean manufactuerer did... how do you think the first DC games were ripped? before the serial cable was worked out?

I agree... with the popularity of CDR drives world wide it dsn't make too much sense. I mean if you have to bring your own blank then its safe to say you either depend on it or you have your own burner. As for your sig and everyone comments about it I don't mind... everyone is allowed to have their own opinions... thats what the internet is for.

ok Colimbine (sic) didn't happen cause of video games... it happened cause the parents didn't spend ANY time looking at their kids. these kids had pipebombs and weapons in their rooms... of all the ppl who live at home (I am 18 and live at home) how many times a day do yer parents atleast glance in yer room... like when you are in there... these kids had dead bolt locks on their door... that ain't a 'privacy' issue...
Yes I do feel that some video games can cause addictions... I was addicted to EQ for a while... 6 hours a day 7 days a week.. but I got over it. If this kid lived at home and used his parents net connection then they could be held responsible. but since hes 21 they prolly won't.
Personally I enjoyed EQ at first... then it got well crap... its not so much an MMORPG anymore than its a MMOSAC(Massive Multiplayer Online Sit And Camp) out of the 6 hours I would play 2 would be camping. when I realized this and saw how much it eventually cost me (I play for 6 months) I cancled my account. Oh well Just my 2 Credits.
and on a side note I lost a good number of friends from playing EQ... 'Uhhhh no I can't go to the mall and check out chicks tonight... I gotta camp Dylyn Starshine to get this peice of paper' and excuse me if I spelt his name wrong... its been a while. and thank god for that... EQ Free for almost a year!
