You should have seen my old headphones. No one would have mistaken me for upwardly mobile. They were held together with that red tuck tape stuff. And masking tape, when the other stuff was inappropriate. Sadly, one of the wires broke. Those were good headphones... right amount of bass for me, no crackle, good response at all frequency, and about $15 Canadian. Don't sell em like that any more.
have any sort of sense of humour installed. C'mon, I was making a joke. That's why I saved the "punch line" for the end. I know, it might not have been at all humorus to you, but it was meant as such. Why are you taking it so hard anyway? I should have known not to comment on Macs.
I have a similar point of view to you. Macs are all very nice, and it is pretty awesome that they run on a *nix, but I'm not going to pay that much for that. There are/were incredibly bad security flaws (sorry, no examples), which escape mainly because of the lack of use.
Anyway, I met a Reality Distortion Feild victim once. I was talking to a proffesor in the physics lobby at my college. He asked me about my Sony mp3 player... talked about it a bit. Then he asked when I would get an iPod. This struck me as extremely odd. My Sony thing works alright, why would an iPod be better? I just mentioned that I didn't want an iPod because they make users look like yuppies. RIGHT THEN, another proffesor (who I will call B) in the adjacent room shouts "No they don't!" Me and B talked about apple for a bit, and I saw his apple laptops in his room, talked about the Nano, cameras, etc. Pretty normal electronics conversation.
Why do I say he was an RDF victim? Because B was wearing a turtleneck.
This is stricly Buzzword 2.0 compliant! It is pro-proactive positive 2.0 change 2.0 process 2.12b3 synergetically synergetic! Ok, Buzzwords 2.0 beta 3. I think the Buzzwords 2.0 are just writing up a finalized spec for iso.
When the ice caps melt, when there is no power/water/internet, when there is no visible light, just heat, and when the corpses lie in the streets, they will release the source code so we can all have a good laugh.
Everyone who has watched that apple commercial where the mac guy talks to the pc guy about video and other "life stuff" knows that better means easier.
Hence, notepad, with its easy and consistant interface, is obviously the best text editor around, with all the features you could ever want to... edit windows formated text. All those idiots using VI should grab WINE and notepad, and get on the better bandwagon.
Nice ideas, the Fathers of Freedom or whatnot (I too am Canadian) being interested in free software. However, much like the Firefox ads, it goes too much into the free software philosophy, which most people don't care about.
The ad serves as a warning: Avoid punctuation in a heading. Also, try to make your ad say something, and don't make it look ugly. At least they didn't start a land war in Asia...
Take a peice of white paper. Take a peice of transparency. You might want to wash off any coating now or is will come off later. Tape the paper and the transparency to your darkly coloured desk. Your optical mouse should now work.
They don't want to lose momentum to Blu-ray. If they can kill off the competitors, it is well worth it. If Blu-Ray takes off, then all the money in prototypes, R&D, promotion, etc is wasted. Even if they don't win totally, they still will make more out of it than they would if HD-DVD dies entirely.
I picked up a TNT2 to play BZFlag... in about 2001. The computer had an integrated ViRGE S3, which was totally useless (aside from 3d acceleration).
I feel like I've been missing out in life...
That brings to mind one of the things that I think makes linux nice. As I want to keep my laptop happy, and as I am lazy, I just run windows. I do miss linux, though, mainly because with windows, you can't see the bones, so to speak. *nixes are more like gloves you can move your fingers about in, while windows seems more like... a hunk of wood. It is the control that makes it fun to use linux. An ease of use distro can reduce this fun and sense of control/accomplishment slack sounds like it can bring.
I tried suse, and was annoyed by the loss of control. Why isn't root's bash profile in/root? Because they want it to be easy, and not dangerous. For configure/make/install it is nice to add to path (gtklib I think it was, or something). Sure, I should stick to packages, and do things the suse way, whatever that is, but as I am not running a managed system of desktops, I just want to have fun and make it work.
Either that or a HL2 mod... Balmer-Life! "Fucking kill" the citadel of Google! Use your eye beams on innocents! And of course, lots of chairs to use with the grav-gun...
In my mind, the weakest link here was the employee. The employee had permissions to access both the data and the internet, probably both needed for the work involved. Unless somehow the user was restricted to only running certain executables, he (or she) could have just downloaded the linux version of DESKTOP_HOTNESS-VIRUS_SCANNED_SAFE. I don't like the idea of employees being constantly watched, but perhaps more education, or a low level account for internet use on break time, would have helped, but just installing linux wouldn't stop trojans.
...we is gonna hve that backwards compat for you, if it's the last thing I do. Boy, we'll get'r done! Now just let me fire up this batch o' rotgut, and I'll get you your backwards compat.
High quality indeed... maybe that stuff would keep the mosquitoes out. And the airborn bacterium.
So basically, build a fuel cell, and use one part known by laymen? Impressive. Why don't they just put the bandage on the outside of a ballard fuel cell bus?
It's way cool!
They'll probably direct you to managment. By elevator.

The English use SI, as far as I know.
A taste/smell interface for your computer!

Phone employees are often paid to retrieve numbers for spammers to use... If this system was put into place, it would crumble right away.
...cue the jokes about the Catholic Church!

Most of what we get around here is capitalist propoganda. You astroturfing pig.
You'll need the latest Direct X to play... oh, I won't say it.

I doubt it. The EFF has a lot of money to spend on lawyers to defend free speech and permissive copyrights, where the FSF dosen't.
