Get a car tape player, and a 2.5mm to tape adapter. Done. Plug in a CD player, and no need to worry about the built in one dying. If you want power, get a cigarrette lighter power adaptor, or a 120 V car inverter... or just charge a lot of batteries.
I have doubts the system will be useful for telling one what other stuff to listen to, unlike this system: http://www.gnoosic.com/ . You can plug in U2, Radiohead, and Coldplay, and find other boring and pretentious music to listen to! So!
Bow only if the complexity or anything could be found to have relevance on the enjoyability of a song... I'd rather listen to the Ramones than Be Bop wanker jazz, or for that matter, Brittany Spears.
One large laptop, two power bricks, and a 160 gig usb 2 drive go with me whenever I want to use my laptop at school. I can watch napoleon dynamite any time I want, though.
I haven't read the article, but it seems pretty obvious to me that the company that owns Java, Solaris, and all of their other client/server stuff (or "solutions" if you prefer buzzwords) would say that sorta thing...
Even if they are active, they will just cancel out the external sounds. I am not sure how to work it out, but I would expect the energy to transfer to heat or somethin'. I would think that noise cancelling headphones would reduce hearing loss, as you don't need as much sound.
Aren't there better things to do with what money is available? How about food? Water? Better equipment for ham radio users in the affected areas? Communication is nice, but a central database server and a computer (and an operator) for every camp could connect families who don't have email accounts already. Although it could be useful, I think there are better uses for money, rather than a touchy-feely-linuxy thing.
is yet another article to RTFA. I mainly meant what I was saying as a joke, but I thought the article was more of a space filler. Thank you for enlightening me.
Penguins are actual animal. Linus Torvalds did not invent them. I fail to see the relevance of some boring smelly animal on slashdot, or some movie about said creature.
All the anti-microsoft folks are busy writing kernel patches. Someone had the brilliant idea of writing a script to make new stabs at microsoft, but it turns out/dev/random wasn't that random...
I did not mean to say that it is immoral or moral to infringe on a network. I merely meant to say that morality is decided by the person doing the action.
But yes, voluntary "pen testing" is probably often helpful. perhaps crackers could masquerade as white hats (company's POV, hactivists go under crackers in this example) if something screws up... but often companies won't even patch holes when they are pointed out (sorry, no source).
You forgot to take into account "Double Leap Seconds"
I remeber reading about some Unix library or whatnot (ctime or something) that could handle them... musta been a slow news day on/.
Glad they told me it was immoral to (cr|h)ack...

I wouldn't have figured that out without them. From what I understand, laws describe what is legal, and individuals decide what is moral. Then again, maybe psycopaths need to be told...

Hey, this is slashdot, not pimp my ride.
The movie titles were old enough to be public domain, so that dosen't really matter either.

I forgot what that stood for! Come to think of it, when do you capture the flag in counter-strike? I think you've been playing CS a little too little.

Slashdot is not a place for a reasonable discussion of Sci-Fi shows. This might hurt someone's karma...
Somebody did.

The truth of the Time Cube surrounds even the most educated stupid researches of us. -(1) + -(1) = +(A North American).

A server operating system for servers? Surely you jest.
An editor who fufills the job of an editor? Surely you jest.
Give a slashdotted site and a .NET applet a chance, k? The java applets are still loading here... been over a minute

I meant the advertiser's images
I would expect money not to come from reading the HTML, but from requesting the images... oh well, better than nothing. I should get to that...
Rather than downloading the ads, I will use wget to download the html, and download the pictures. No money to RP.
They agreed.
should be punishable by death without a trial... or maybe just the same as a second degree murder. Yeah, the latter is more fair.
