I'm pretty sure you were joking but, if you really didn't want to pay full price for his books, then try finding a local used-bookstore, most of the time they sell books for half price or thereabouts.. 2.50 for Ender's Game? Yeah!
Mainly because the ignorance of the people that call others geeks keeps increasing, therefore anyone who knows more abuot computers than they do must be a geek...
Actually, some of the maps were, but the top levels (ground, and 1st floor of the fort and cave) were static, items and monsters in the 2nd and lower levels of the dungeons were random...
FSP is a UDP-based protocol for transferring files. It has many benefits over FTP, mainly for running anonymous archives. It is usable on lines with high packet loss ratio (70% WiFi), can go behind firewalls and unoticed by port scans (because of UDP), does not overload networks when hosting ISOs or movies, share files on modem lines without eating all of the bandwidth, and keeps lamers away from your site (they don't know how to get to it). ..../me bursts out laughing like Agent Smith in the Revolutions trailer...
Ahh... good old Gorilla Fight from MS with QBasic......I always wondered what would happen if one of them tried to eat a banana... or do they now have phobias of bananas and try to find other things to eat... or do they become friends and start eating the bugs off of each others backs?
Bah.. the reason they are being forced to market the pretty graphica is because that's what they've been spoon-feeding to the masses in order to pump up revenue... if they were less focused on converting the infidels to their system they could concentrate on making the games even better than they are (generalization to every gaming company...)
Q: What's missing from the SRD compared to the core D&D rulebooks?
A: Mostly the "flavor" elements. There are no named gods, none of the spells have significant NPC names, there's no mention of Greyhawk, etc. You'll also note that there are no rules for character creation, for advancing characters in level, calculating experience, or anything else related to the topics forbidden by the Usage Guide.
It doesn't seem to be quite the three core rulebooks, although the missing information shouldn't be hard to find elsewhere...
Well, for those who are still in school, or recently graduated, or just happen to have a TI-89, 92+, or V200 laying around, they make for excellent reading in most light and have around a meg of memory if you don't clutter them with games and whatnot (a grayscale version of Street Fighter 2 is available...and Sonic the Hedgehog)
The ebook reader is available from the TICT web site, they also have a converter to convert ASCII text to they're (compressed) ebook format...
If you'll read a post up higher on the page, the WinXP 64-bit is on the MSDN site...
You only have to do that on win9x/Me... 2k and XP don't have THAT problem...
Homer: Get back here with that pair of scissors! *Bart cuts through Homer's brand-new paper-thin laptop with the scissors* Homer: Doh! Nelson: Haha!
nah... It's the people that think every URL starts with 'www.'
Actually, they market them as 1GB, and you end up with 1,000 MB instead of 1,024 MB as you might expect...
nahh... there are 0b10 types of people in the world...

That would have been funnier with a score of (6, Uber-Leet Hacker)

That would have been really funny if it had Linus saying how he pronounced linux...
Hm.. is that a rainstormn or a thunderous applause?

To me they seem more like a hybrid RPG/Adventure game...

I was under the impression that they payed for the license several weeks ago...

No one has mentioned Armagetron yet...
It's only on the NT-based versions: NT, 2000, and XP
I think they should use Synapse... It was pretty effective at the end of the movie "That's what Synapse is!"
