    The thing is, with a large enough open source project there is a much greater chance that at least one of the contributers, or potential contributers, or a package maintainer for a distro, or dozens to hundreds to thousands of people will catch and complain and/or publicize the problem with the author's code.

    And then resolve issues/fork it...

    Well, how much sense would it make to place a dvd-drive on a 386SX? (33Mhz for those that don't know)

    Hah... 45USD plus a 20USD phone line for Yahoo ADSL... If you happen to be on Kyushu look into switching to BBIQ, about 60USD a month for 100mb/s fiber optic, and no phone line...

    couldn't companies just decide not to have their games reviewed?

    What might be better could be if another group would start up and give accurate and helpful ratings so people can make informed purchases without having to depend on online reviews.


    Online reviews are helpful, but it can be a pain when you see something interesting at the game shop and have to go home to look it up online...

    Except that we're not talking about making Firefox into a desktop environment; we're talking about making a DE based on the same engine that Firefox uses for it's GUI, that is the buttons and whatnot... It seems closer to the way Star Office used to be (or maybe still is? been a long time since I looked at staroffice...) having a desktop app, and then Firefox and friends would run inside it along with any other apps written for it...

    Personally, I have a mod chip on order to play import games, I don't have any intention of playing copied games...

    I wouldn't even have ordered it if the wii wasn't region encoded... I'm an American living in Japan... quit taunting me with all these games and let me play them without paying another 25000Yen for a japanese system when I already have a US system... and let me set my local area to japan for the forecast channel too >_
