I think so, but I think the majority of people would jump into their cars,Suv's etc. Having a motorcycle or better yet a dirt bike would probably be the best bet. Remember, we are talking about millions of people who are used to cars for transportation and getting food at the supermarket and McDonalds. I don't hold much thought for rational thinking among most people. Not to mention the fact that people will want to bring all their valuables with them..
we were just discussing this in the Office, the conclusion seems to be that all roads would instantly gridlock and no one would get anywhere/live ~25mi noth of Boston
erm no... haven't you heard that it takes a village ? Parents have too much to do today (like work, so they can buy thier kids $250.00 sneakers) to actually raise thier children. That's exactly what gvt is for
Been Done Already, here in Mass if you don't pay your child support you lose your DL. I believe if you are convicted of a drug offence you lose your DL for six months *weather or not driving was involved on the offence* Other states most likely have similar laws
Were those cheap China parts really cheaper than the American made ones I'd say yes. It's a numbers game. If the lawsuits are less than the recall, you fight the people suing, If it looks like the Lawsuits are going to cost more... Plus, the product is 2 to 4 yeas old. that is positively ancient in laptop terms. I have a dell laptop in that age range that I got 2nd hand,(I use it to tune my car) If I didn't read/. what are the odds that I'd even know about the recall ?
Yeah, Id be interested to know how many TeraBytes is server has:) I have just under 1/2 TByte raid and already just about filled it with movies and tv and I'm only talking about 15 Movies and a few hundred tv shows
We are moving to a cashless society, even McDonalds is now accepting credit & debit cards. While I initally resisted using a debit card, the fact is I use it all the time now and often only keep $10 or $20 in my wallet simply because just about anything I purchase can be made with the debit card. It makes tracking my finances much easier. Now while I wouldn't expect to buy smack from the local drug dealer with a card, I would expect to be allowed to purchase anyting legal. Credit card companies stopped processing gambling debts years ago due mostly to government pressure, (and chargebacks, I know) But the bottom line is gambling is generally illeagal unless it is 'sponsored' by the state. It is a scary idea that any finacial company starts down the path of restricing money transfers based on morals. I think others will follow...
Well I agreee but,(and I didn't think of this before) AFIK VCII has not been cracked. and direcTV's new access card has yet to have a publicly announced crack and there is a lot of money riding on that one.
Ditto, I've been running the SETI client on 1 to 5 computers over the years since the project first came out. almost NOBODY except for the geeks has any idea what SETI is. I also don't think that scientists or astronomers care one whit what the general public thinks. Perhaps they picked up a signal from some governments secret satelite or something because I do find all this 'mainstream' press odd.
If they ever perfect DRM people will just make an analog copy and take the one time (small) quality hit. I'm not even going to talk about bit-for-bit copys that the real pirates use. It's really just a way to lock in the consumer.
you owe me a new keyboard...
So, does anyone think that movie theatres will go the way of the drive in ?
For a resonable fee, I can install this blue button to make the windows go up

well not quite the same but over on Fark there is a newsday link about Caesars Atlantic City Hotel and using cameras in-appropriately..
Ah, but if you repeat it enough, then it becomes truth
Um, I think that is the very definition of Corporation
I think the phrase is, you're likely to be eaten by a republican
you're in a long twisty corridor...
Sigh. no I'm sure we are somehow responsible for that too. Those remote-controlled SUV's we sent over there is surely the cause
